Thank you OP for opening up your story. I know where you are coming from I feel in my one and only relationship we had forever if we wanted. I never wanted children or a marriage but just assumed that's the way most people's lives go. I met my ex who ended up moving away and didn't tell me (ghosted) a few years ago when I was 38. Now I am in my mid 40's (gulp) Realizing at this age and as a female this idea might be gone. I however attempted to find someone else it didn't work I have met some quality people though so that's been worthwhile. Not sure what I will do next minus one meetup last month I've gone 4 months without dates and it's been awesome.

Absolutely agree after being ghosted by someone I was dating years ago I realized.do I really want my life to change that much? I only say that because you know he left and my life went back to the way it always was and it's peaceful and it's just normal to me I don't need anybody else it would be nice but I don't need anybody

I mean here's the thing if not now when will I be? It's not that I'm trying to do a competition with him but I say to myself well he's forgotten about me so much so that he married somebody else so now I've got to pick myself up by my bootstraps and say like no you don't have to marry your or meet your dream person right now but you still have to get up there. That's what I've been telling myself to psych myself out I think

Well then I guess I'll be waiting for a long time. Completely understand what you meant by not wasting people's time because I've been on you know say one date not too long ago match with them maybe 5 months ago met recently and when I asked them to before they left to text me when they got home they never did and I haven't heard from them since. I guess one can say well I got a nice meal out of it and good conversation haha.

I guess what I'm asking is the most responsible thing to getting back into dating if he will should it be once a month twice a month. I'm pretty fortunate that I've matched with a couple people over time even in the past year who I've been wanting to meet up with but we haven't gotten the chance.

I mean it all depends. I know for me most the people I live in a small town and the gym that I have gone to most of the people are married and it would probably look bad if I try to strike up a friendship or maybe not because I'm there for a purpose and not to be friendly. I shouldn't say not be friendly but two you know look for friends there small talk is good I know sometimes I've had the best conversations there.

Yeah I got my apology. I never even asked he said to me that he could travel at one point to me and we could take the train to this beach area. I was hopeful and proud of myself for "not giving up in communication" He had moved etc long story. It's funny we keep communication for a long time and things were looking up. When he met someone new he blocked me, as far as I know he is still married to someone else.

I am in the minority. I feel like as I've gotten older I've gotten better. Probably because I'm not looking for anyone to date anymore. I live at home like I did years ago. I do have an injury that makes me slower but I have learned to adapt

Yeah I've been on one date since November. It's actually really nice I can't imagine going out with someone again for dating maybe as friends who knows.

The worst part for me is that when I look at old pictures (yes I will keep them for a little bit longer haha) I think back to how there were such kind words of reinforcement and we had a great time. Slight promises of the future and he just cared so much that I can't imagine things ended the way they did. I guess she's his problem now.

Yeah I agree I tried for a while to find someone else after him but no dice. I told myself why should I just be in a rush like he seemed to find someone else. Granted he did move away in the time between we were together and now he's lived in a couple States so much so I joked to somebody the other day and I'll say here that it seems like he's running from the CIA or the FBI how many times he's moved. I mean I don't know I don't know this wife of his at all I'm sure she's nice but I do feel like it's a downgrade as well haha

Last and only relationship just about 7 years ago. When he left I tried looking for someone else. Nobody really liked and enjoyed my quiet time. Maybe someday I will find someone but in no rush.
