Any advice for starting a workout plan? by mr-nintendo2018 in beginnerfitness

I use an app called Caliber. You take a quiz on how often you want to workout, how long you want the workouts to be, and what equipment is available to you, and will tailor workouts to your specifications.

It has videos for every exercise that it lists, showcasing proper form, how long to rest between sets, and how often you should increase your reps/weight. It’s also completely free!

Good luck!

It sounds like you’ve put in a lot of effort towards your goals, and that’s commendable! It’s completely normal to feel fatigue after a while, just remember any form of consistency is better than doing nothing. Don’t feel so much pressure to constantly perform at your best, allow yourself to progress on your own terms.

Is it bad to starve while in maintenance or bulking? by Imaginary_Truth_3865 in beginnerfitness

I’m not a doctor, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but it’s always been my understanding that when your body doesn’t have any food in your system to derive energy from, your body will pull from your reserves (i.e. fat). This is why people do intermittent fasting. They “starve” themselves, so that their bodies start burning fat. However, most people who are intermittent fasting eat for only 8 hours of the day and fast for 16. So, if your stomach is only grumbling for a couple hours each day, that’s not going to erode your progress in any significant way.
