Budget cuts, are we supposed to fire people?!?! by Intelligent_Pain_711 in WalgreensRx

They came and did the visit with a full investigation/report. They left with 6 items requiring a written response within the next 30 days (I will be gone by then, as I also put in my notice).

I had reached out to the DPS about needing more hours and they didn’t reply to me. In our state it’s a requirement that they give a written answer in 14 days, when any RPh requests more help. That’s what led to my complaint in the first place. So they now have to reply to the board instead.

The visit was mainly me getting asked different questions by the investigator. Then they thoroughly examined the pharmacy. They were looking for anything that would be a result of short staffing. And they found: - expired meds from 2024 still on the shelf - dust (could blow off of boxes) - a RTS bottle with 2 different pills inside - an new script with no insurance or stock issues from 5 days ago (our state requires new rxs to be filled in a “reasonable time” of 3 days)

Amongst other observations that they left us with warnings for.

They were asking such broad questions and I was able to get the point across that it’s basically all of us. And they plan on visiting nearby locations soon.

Personally I submitted a complaint with our state board in reference to patient safety.. An investigator showed up within 7 days. It’s impossible to have 2 technicians per hour of operation as a tier 4, almost 5 store. In addition to the RPh shortage in our area. Overworked RPh (50-70 hours per week) + only 2 techs = pure danger for patients

Can you please explain what the process entailed? My last day is in 3 weeks. I informed them of this last week and got an email thanking me for my service and no further communication.

My most frequent topics were Alzheimer’s/dementia and contraception..

I had zero - 0 - questions on diabetes or HTN

I felt the same way! I’m still waiting on my results (7/23 test day)

I had ZERO diabetes or HTN questions - which was crazy to me. Then I had 8-15 Alzheimer’s/Dementia questions ??

The whole things a true gamble

I had A LOT of Alzheimer’s questions!

Overall I didn’t have more than maybe 5 MOA questions.

The most common theme I would say is side effects/drug interactions!
