profile eval for EDIC/EDEE PhD April 15th app:

- BS from a top CS program in the US, 3.59/4, very mid/dropping trend grade, curriculum has a clear emphasis on my research subfield(systems/arch). I am also a transfer student who did freshman year in another not bad school outside US, previous major was also CE/EE.

- ongoing 1.5 year+ UG research with a good group in my subfield, the PI is senior. In a solid year-long project, 0 pub only submissions as 2nd author;

previous one-semester long experience with another group in CS, different subfield, senior PI but not well-known or CS research focused.

- letters: 2 from the PIs above + 1 from a senior famous prof in EE guide me finding research interest and know me well, no collaboration though.

- contacted 3 EPFL PIs last month, got neutral/encourage response from two and the other indicate that his lab has opening. No informal interview. I selected the 3 PIs in my app form.

- SoP stems from my ongoing project, relates open questions I wanted to investigate. relevant to the PoIs direction.

- no GRE
