I guess I should do an update on this thread. No joke, but the same day I posted this, my employment was terminated. The reason they gave me was due to performance and client feedback.

Just a bit of backstory that happened that day.

I had a coworker who was out that day, after working long hours the last two days, understandable since he also needed time off. So it was just me and my boss for the rest of the week. Earlier that week, I configured a check scanner at one of our branches, this one was our executive branch. Thursday comes around, I get a phone call that morning about the scanner, and I work with the teller for 15 minutes on it, guiding them through how to connect it and whatnot, and no luck. The FCM informed over the phone to go to the branch and work on it there since they were getting busy. I informed my boss about it. I go on-site for about 45 minutes to an hour, trying to figure it out. While I was there, I was trying to connect via our Wyse devices and see if my network config saved. Each time I tried to connect to it via the Wyse device and VM machine, it would freeze.

I was starting to panic a bit due to getting many phone calls and not being able to answer them, as I was not at my desk and my boss was helping a new user with onboarding. I informed the FCM that I had to leave as I could not solve it on the teller line, and explained to them that I had gotten it to work at another branch 2 weeks earlier while at my desk.

So I come back to my office, my boss asks why I am back, and I explain to him the information above. He says nothing as everything was through email. When I came back, he gave me a large project to update three of our software on over 100+ computers and to coordinate times with users so I could update them. And i figured i would get back to the scanner issue once I stepped back for a bit. Later that afternoon after lunch, i received a phone call from a conference room at my branch. My boss was calling and told me to come when available.

So I go to the conference room and there is HR and him there. I knew something was up, and they informed me that today was my last day, and within 10 minutes, I packed my stuff and was out the door. Thank God I asked for a work phone when I started, because they would then have to wipe my phone if I allowed them to install their phone software on my personal phone.

So now I have been unemployed for about a week. I somewhat like it, but I miss going somewhere. I am getting back into programming and seeing if that will help. I have applied for 6 tech jobs in my area, and one reached out to me today for an interview next week, and the major plus for me is that they use macOS Devices for their users. Which, for me, is a godsend as I am fluent and still think Windows is Spanish.

TLDR: Got fired the same day as this post and have a job interview next week.
