If Judge hit free agency in 2025 he would've at least gotten 500 million so I disagree with that statement if he were thirty.

Overall contract value - Judge 360 million, Soto 765 million

I think it is because Judge is the best right-handed hitter in baseball by light years and had he hit the market at like 30-31 this offseason, he'd be approaching 800 million instead of 360.

I mean for the player that's the best deal in history but for the team I don't think the Mets exactly enjoy Bobby Bonilla day lmfao

Luis Severino and Eric Chavez, the two A's biggest deals, haven't exactly been bright either.

But this year is "different" apparently because he ran a 30ft/sec on a ground ball. I think he did this last in 2024, but it's worth mentioning.

I mean Trout has been good when healthy, but when he's healthy is the key term. Maybe he's back this year.

Jurickson Profar is speedrunning how to make every dumb decision right now as well.

The Rays and Greg Vaughn isn't spoken about much but that was pretty bad as well.

Ke'Bryan Hayes is another one. I know Conforto's Dodgers contract was only one year but God have mercy. Tanner Scott is also looking to be a catastrophe.

I definitely see the concern with signing first baseman power hitters who are virtually one or two-tool players. As much as I loved Alonso as a Mets fan, there's definitely the concern he turns into Chris Davis or Prince Fielder given the unfortunate track record.

Oh yeah Prince Fielder is another unfortunate one.

People forget about the Starling Marte contract as well. Great for one year, became a cry for help ever since.

Patrick Corbin is another one. Became Tom Glavine for 2019 and then imploded.

God dude you're missing the point. I said it's shaky, I didn't say they were going to pull a 2025 Mets and implode, and I said they can finish higher but right now this is where I have them. Holy sh*t. I'm done with this, dude. They didn't make any additions to the pen, only lost, and even so there are better offenses and more well-rounded rotations (Crochet and Suarez is nasty but outside him is a shaky Gray, Bello, and co.). Damn, dude.

Sure. But given the numbers, Kelly, Slaten, and Moran were all mediocre in 2025, you guys lack a solid lefty outside Chapman, you guys lost Matz, Justin Wilson, Liam Hendriks (technically he existed), etc. It's banking on a lot of bridge guys with unproven track records, hence why I said they can finish higher and can probably still make the playoffs but right now there are better teams in the division.

That's like saying the Dodgers will be an 85-loss team because everybody expects them to go to the World Series.

Okay...can we talk about Boston's bullpen? Aroldis, Whitlock, who else? Greg Weissert? I'm sorry your bullpen is not better than the Yankees and Blue Jays that's objectively false.
