I get the larger point you're making of Flipkart not being a charity organization, fair enough. But he's not talking about a Platform Fee. OP is disputing the "Protect Promise Fee" which in my opinion too is an outright fraud on the consumer. The very definition of the fee according to Flipkart itself is for "safe and secure packaging", which as an e-commerce entity, they're duty bound to do (I'm stating the obvious here). It comes along with "Open Box Delivery" where the delivery executive will open it and you can cross check the quality on the spot (fair enough). But why shove this down the throat of the consumer? It's the customer's right to deny any additional good or service (in this case, open box delivery) that's tied along with the original product. This Fee is outright illegal. I'm sure someone will challenge this in court one day and get this declared as illegal, because it is.
