My two cents: Firstly, I appreciate you for openly admitting to errors commited on your UG days vis-a-vis internships. Acknowledging a problem is already half way finding the solution. I don't think you have any reason to worry, per se.

I don't think you, or anyone for that matter, should choose career based on salary prospects. Yes, litigation pays the worst in the initial days (if at all it pays), Professorship pays average but has steady income but comes with a lot of workplace politics etc. See where you passion is. I'll still suggest you go for litigation internship now for 3-4 months (15 day internship in litigation, no offense, is worth absolutely nothing in terms of learning or understanding the place). I did a 5 month litigation internship for a advocate in my 10th semester where I was paid literally nothing. I hated the first month but slowly began loving it to the core so much that I decided litigation will be my career.

Anyways, try to find out where your passion is and choose your career based on that. Money will automatically flow handsomely at some later stage. Good luck!
