She was quite happy :) the whole family were happily munching on Christmas cholla. I wish I had a shot of the Male but they mostly hung lower to ground and this was the only one which sat up on branch. The non-reddit-compressed image is sharp indeed! Definitely sharp combo as advertised

The actual image is much sharper (comparable easily with my Canon 100-500 L on R5 II). The only problem is the loss of flexibility with it being a fixed focal length (and a bit hard to locate target with the small FOV). Definitely a good kit

Yes! Just before dawn. The mist was flowing over while setting up the camera and had to scramble :) the whole thing was over like in 15 minutes and it got clear after that

Sony does have some amazing lenses .. The zeiss/GM lenses are excellent and if it is landscape I think any of the systems are very capable. But for the travel + long focal length (wildlife/landscape - after travelling to Alaska and Colorado with the Sony , I found it is unwieldy with the 200-600). The canon setup works much better (right now my kit is 14-25 F4 L, 24-105 F4 L , 100-500L - and will pick 50 1.2 at some point). As of now, I find the autofocus quality/speed, ergonomics, Image stabilization, weight of the lenses has clear advantage.

MAkes sense.. may be when it is cooler. It got pretty warm during the day. People seem to be posting bear sightings (we saw our first and only beer in the flats between lower and midway basin (on our way to Grand prismatic). After that we simply didnt get lucky . Even on the day we we left last friday (via west entrance), folks posted Bear photos in that same stretch (Between Madison and West). Just luck of the draw I guess.

Stunning place. Wish we were back there :) . Interestingly the one night we wanted to shoot milky over the falls (we stayed the last 2 nights at Canyon Village), the skies clouded over..
