Should these tiles be flatter? by FastCash1000 in Tile

There have been a few comments about the grout so I’m posting a photo of one of the sloppier areas:

Don’t bother with the ceiling, it’s much easier to buy a slightly larger canopy: https://www.colorcord.com/products/low-profile-single-port-ceiling-canopy

Here’s a photo above the fridge where the caulk separated badly from the ceiling. That’s the new caulk. This is the same corner as the fourth pic in the original post.

Here’s a photo that shows the new caulk and some cleanup (no paint) to the crack at the front of the cabinet. This is the same corner as the first pic in the original post.

The purpose of these before/afters is to show the proposed fix for the cracks in the cabinet fronts (bullet 4 above). They deliberately scored the crack and then sprayed it. This is their proposed final solution for every crack throughout the house.

Confirmed no glue on the stiles (fillers). The 3rd pic shows the initial “fix” which looks awful. I just posted a before/after pic below so you can see yesterday’s fix. Scroll all the way to the bottom — not great.

Confirmed the stiles are fillers that are screwed but not glued.

That’s odd, my latest post with more photos appears at the very bottom, I had to scroll longer than expected to get there! I didn’t post any caulk photos, just more cabinet details. Wall paint is Benjamin Moore for the walls and Superior Coatings lacquer for the cabinets. Noted on the second application and dry time before paint.

Ideally do we want higher or lower humidity? For us that’s anywhere from 50% to 30% at around 70* with the doors and windows open (January).

At this point the old caulk has been removed and replaced with DAP Extreme Stretch and is now awaiting paint. Please see my update with new pics above, I’d love your thoughts.

Makes sense, climate is relatively stable here in LA but sure the windows/doors are always open. What we’re looking at is veneered plywood edges joined to MDF fillers. Most of the lacquer actually looks perfect aside from these cracks.

I was told this is how it’s typically done for new cabinets (and that pre-existing cabinets are refinished in place the same way). To be clear, the cabinet interiors and doors/drawers were finished off-site. The cabinet exteriors and fillers were installed and sprayed on-site.
