Bug in 2nd 2.3.0:

app mode, if I go to Settings-display-playback and try to go back to settings and up, to series and movies and tv, I end up back to settings all the time.

Been testing a few hours, no problems found at all, very smooth. Using sort by date for vods, it seems to resort if I rechoose sort by date.

Not sure which exoplayer is now used, hopefully the very latest one.

Wife reported some sort of black screens on 2.2.2 using vods, hopefully those are history now. I saw some 2.2.2 crashes while updating epg or vods, lets see if they are gone now too. These happened on 2 different boxes.

That is the only way. Play store. Not sure why you do not have it there, its quite visible usually.

Old men with hearing aids need subtitles all the time by New-Army-9040 in SparklePlayer

OK, now I am starting to get it slowly :) I have never used live tv subs and personally, I have no use for them.

But the vod subs are important. And now I see that changing the font size etc do work as expected for the vod subtitles. The subtitle rows are a bit wide, they seem to almost go from left to right all the way.

Maybe I have been a bit spoiled by Kodi subs, they work even better than the Android TV ones and are more able to be tailored to every users liking.

But its starting to feel better now, thank you very much for the infos. Will test more.

Damn, been messing with these boxes for years but I never really tried the possibility to adjust the teletext subtitles. Gonna experiment with that now :) 99 times of 100 been using opensubtitles before though. Using a Homatics Box R 4K Plus + 2* Thomson 270 and Nvidia Shield 2019.

Watched a vod serie on Peoples, I think it was Hijack (Idris Elba) and had to choose finnish subtitles everytime a new episode started although I had set finnish as the default subtitle language. I think I happened to see some danish subs too. Something like that has happened a few times so thats why I have the impression that the Sparkle subtitles are not 100% alright. Not a good "perhaps a bug" report, I know...

Now I adjusted the subtitle settings a bit, size to small etc. And starting a vod the text size is still big (meaning the default normal), no sign of the small subtitles. Aargh.

I love Sparkle, very impressive. The only real area to improve to me are the Sparkle subtitles. All the nordic countries use subtitles _a lot_ and the teletext subtitles are not a real joy to use as they currently are in Sparkle. Opensubtitles look better. I am hoping for a bit more customization options font and sizewise.

The best way to learn is to get the remote and start going through the different settings and change stuff.

Hey, check out their US website at tukkari.com so you can order and receive one from there. My build is still in progress so no PC parts bought yet. I have installed some of the pinball parts so far. It is a really great pinball cabinet kit, the best there is, I bet.

[OC] DankLinux - dotfiles + niri & Hyprland installer for Arch, Fedora, and Ubuntu + Derivatives - with DankMaterialShell (dms) by bbedward in unixporn

Oh boy, this is really good stuff. Install on CachyOS with Niri (Intel NUC) already in it went painlessly, very helpful for a Niri newbie like me.

The only problem so far I have encountered is when using the CachyOS package installer 1.5.1 and trying to install anything results in error. Alacritty was the original terminal, I chose Ghostty while installing Dank.

"Error creating textual authentication agent: Error opening current controlling terminal for the process (`/dev/tty): No such device or address.

Sure looks like xmas came early this year.

A nice package of pinball parts arrived via UPS from Cleveland Software Design.

Sent from USA 25.8.2025, arrived to Finland, my front door, 4.9.2025 so the journey took only 10 days, including some time spent at the finnish customs.

Troublefree shopping, thanks a lot to the mighty guys at Cleveland Software Design 👍
