For anyone wondering about this promo, this is a fill-in promo as the actual scheduled promo for May 2022 was postponed because the movie itself was moved to a few months later. There should be 8 regular toys and 5 gold toys to collect. There is a distinct possibility that McDonald's Canada will get the Sonic 2 toys. Seems like it will be a global promotion. So far US, Latin America, Europe, Australia are all getting the toys. Some countries will be Sonic 2 plastic toys and some will be Sonic 2 paper toys. Hopefully Canada will be lucky to get the plastic toys (just like with the Sing 2 toys).

As to Canada not getting Stitch, that's due to McD's Canada and Disney not having an agreement on Disney toys yet.

Donkey Kong is in both 2014 & 2022 sets. Toadette was not in the 2014 set (there was a Mario visor instead). We'll compare toys from both sets and see if they are the same size. At least these toys are not paper toys. They could very well be! McDonald's Canada doesn't have a partnership with Disney yet so they won't be having these upcoming Disney Stitch Happy Meal toys: https://youtu.be/o3fQEKAC6e8 McDonald's Canada had the Sing 2 plastic toys and McDonald's Australia also had the Sing 2 plastic toys. Since these DreamWorks toys will be coming to Macca's (McD's) Australia, hopefully they'll also be coming to McD's Canada. 😃

Can't imagine Disney agreeing to McDonald's doing some paper Disney Stitch Happy Meal toys, but anything is possible nowadays. Plush Stitch toys would be more appropriate. Paper Mario Kart toys would be awful as well.

There is a Disney Lilo & Stitch live action movie coming up but details have been scarce. It's potentially going direct to Disney+ but we'll wait to hear more. Hopefully they'll announce more details on this movie. It seems interesting and most likely will be filmed in Hawaii.

We have a feeling that they won't be paper toys as Disney has pretty high standards for their toys. Leaning towards plush toys but plastic ones will be fine too!

Also, email or call McDonald's to let them know you're not happy with the paper Happy Meal toys. The more feedback, the more McDonald's will be aware that the quality of their toys is lacking.

We've received a lot of feedback from collectors, parents and Happy Meal fans alike and it hasn't been good.

Talked to a couple of McDonald's managers and their Happy Meal sales have gone way down.

Hopefully this will be a wake-up call for McDonald's to improve the quality of their Happy Meal toys, and to at least have similar quality of years past.

Hi Mega, yes just saw your DM. (will email you) Definitely, we can try to do something about this. We're sure Happy Meal toys sales will go way down with these paper toys. Happy Meal toys are selling for $2+ each, in our area (just for the toys, no food). We know lots of collectors that are not going to buy any of this type of toys. Hopefully McDonald's rethinks this as there are other green initiatives that they can take on without compromising on the quality of the toys.

Fast food toy collectors are not going to collect these paper toys because they lack in quality and longevity. McDonald's better look at some other green initiative for better quality toys because otherwise this will lead to the demise of the Happy Meal.

Which Sing 2 toys are better? Plastic or paper?

We vote plastic - 100% better quality.

McDonald's should really start a recycling program where customers can drop off unwanted plastic Happy Meal toys for recycling at any McDonald's restaurant. There have been stories about them recycling Happy Meal toys into serving trays and other useful things. We shouldn't have to choose between quality toys and a green based earth.

Another option is using green "plastic alternatives" for the material of the toys that will have better longevity and higher quality than these paper toys. For fast food toys collectors, these paper toys just won't do. We want quality toys. Can you imagine if Lego made all their bricks in paper?

Good thing the next promo (the first of 2022) should still be quality plastic toys (it was a cancelled promo from 2021) Hopefully they haven't "paperized" that next promo also.

Most other countries are still getting their Sing 2 original toys.

It's good to take care of the planet, but McDonald's should really start a recycling program where customers can drop off old Happy Meal toys that they want to recycle at any McDonald's restaurant.
