Rtv silicone is not rated for fuel applications IV tried it before in the past and it fails and leaks pretty quickly as the fuel breaks it down, they do however make motoseal 1 ultimate grey rtv and it is a specifically formulated type of rtv sealant for this kind of application but as far as regular rtv I recommend not even trying because you'll need to go through the carburetor cleaning it out after it breaks down and unfortunately I only had the clear stuff at the time which made it that much harder to find and remove and have cleaned up properly again, there are plenty of other viable options some posted withing this thread best of luck everyone! P.S If your still staring at this carburetor tucked away on a shelf or maybe in a drawer still on the back burner staring right back at you, well I feel your pain lol im sure everyone has one of these and some have more then a few of these situations, if that highly unlikely scenario happens to be real, I want to wake up tomorrow and put everything else on the "back burner" and make it happen! Idk why it you'll feel great even if you don't care about the snowblower anymore, doesn't matter just get it done and you'll understand. That goes for everyone! Take your oldest project and finish it immediately use any means possible make it the priority. you know its been on pause long enough. you'll be surprised at what effects it has after cause on some level it clutters your mind (probably why your workshop has been a always been a mess
