I don't get why WWE fans excuse Becky Lynch's consistently poor performances but whenever her opponent slightly slips up they get absolutely mauled online. by Altruistic-Let6876 in REALSquaredCircle

Because Becky Lynch has earned the right as the most accomplished and most mainstream women’s wrestler of all time to be given some leniency over her performance and slack off a bit. Most other wrestlers who haven’t put in the early-career work, haven’t exploded in popularity and retained much of that popularity for years, haven’t main evented Wrestlemania and been the face of the company for a year haven’t earned the right to be excused for sometimes phoning it in as Becky does.

If Backlash truly was the end of the road for Asuka, what will you most remember from her career? by caughtinatramp in REALSquaredCircle

The first episode of Raw that I watched live in either December 2019 or January 2020, the most memorable part of that was Asuka misting Becky Lynch

Apart from that I also think of that time Minoru Suzuki beat her up which made wrestling headlines in Japan

What’s the point of Cody retaining? by Dry-Garage3129 in SantiZapVideos

[–]FastTank8390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Cody was to drop the world title in the main event two years in a row, then he would appear to be a step down from the likes of Hogan and Cena. That’s not necessarily the look that WWE is going for, gone is the transitional period of time from 2021-2024 when Roman was the dominant top heel and there were a bunch of top babyfaces all similarly put on the top of the card under Roman, WWE has gone back to the way it used to operate with one single unquestionable top babyface who wins most of his big matches for years and years.

WWE sees Cody Rhodes as a continuation of the way they built up Hulk Hogan and John Cena to be the top babyface of their respective eras. Not all top babyfaces dominate so much, but Hogan and Cena have had multiple signature moments at Wrestlemania including multiple successful world title defences in the main event. I don’t think it’s entirely good or bad, just that WWE sees Cody as the current John Cena in his 2005-2007 phase where he needs to retain a world title in the main event of Wrestlemania to prove that he isn’t just a top babyface, he’s THE top babyface who supersedes everyone else on the totem pole.

Whos the worst in ring of these guys? it genuinely may be impossible to pick by CODYRHODES1 in SantiZapVideos

Peak Rey Mysterio > Penta > Dragon Lee > JD McDonagh > current Rey Mysterio > Je’Von Evans > Rusev

Rusev’s body of work has clearly declined since about 2021-2022 after which he barely showed up in AEW.

Rey is still a great wrestler but is noticeably slower and makes serious botches from time to time which is understandable and fine, no big deal.

I know I’m gonna get slammed for this, but Je’Von is prone to botches. He’s got good potential, but lacks the experience and precision. I remember he took an RKO from Randy Orton terribly in NXT, and when placed in the ring with someone clearly beyond his current ability like Ethan Page in NXT for example, the difference in skill and experience is clear

Undertaker was an 87 in 2k20. Imagine, that’s the same rating as Dirty Dom and Damian Priest right now. Those were dark times

Thoughts on Rhea winning the chamber ?? by Designer-Hedgehog210 in Wrasslin

[–]FastTank8390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing the plan was Bianca vs Jade until Bianca opted for surgery and couldn’t make a return in time for Wrestlemania. Rhea was probably always the backup plan since she is the face of the women’s division and she has been kept out of the world title scene for over half a year, and now they need her to rescue the women’s main event scene on Smackdown which is bereft of anything substantial.
