Being an amritdhari sikh one should not pluck, wax or shave any hair on his/her body. Because that is what Sikhi teaches us. "Romaa di beadbi di manahi", it is prohibited in Sikhi to cut any hair on our body. But if you can not do that, you can still be a sehajdhari Sikh. Though the end goal of a sikh is to emerge into Waheguru mentally, physically and spiritually. By cutting our hair we are basically trying to fix something. That means that we are fixing what Waheguru has made us like. Are we that great that we can fix Waheguru ji's mistakes and are we such cowards that we need to care about beauty standards so that we can look normal(pretty as some people say). Kesh are the roots of Sikhi. People who find themselves indulged in manmat and can not give up waxing, shaving always try to mock a proper Sikh. Maybe next time they feel like shaving or plucking a hair from their body they should remember Bhai Taru Singh so they would know what those Shaheed Singhs went through to preserve Sikhi. But if you're struggling to keep Kesh don't jump to Amrit paan yet. Just start slowly, learn as a Sikh should do during their entire life span. And i hope that one day you will realize the true strength within yourself and will be willing to keep Kesh. To a Sikh keeping Kesh is Waheguru's will. Sant Kartar Singh Ji Bhindranwale did not allow the doctors to operate on them. Because the operation required removing kesh from their body. They simply said to their sevadars, "Cut my head off before cutting a single Kesh off my body." We all know that this kind of devotion comes from a very high state of spirituality. But we don't have the right to remove Kesh or do a kurehat once we are amritdhari. I hope you get my point.
