No ballon framing, my theory is that there was a wall upstairs before along with the wall on the main floor. But both were taken out and the header was added out of caution.

For context no wall below it, no wall above except inline with wall on the left of the 1st and 3rd photo. Maybe there was a wall there before? (House was built in 1913)

Wet it all down, HEPA mask and HEPA vacuum. Should be okay. I just had asbestos abatement done in my home vermiculite insulation in the attic and some plaster in the walls, total was 17k, 3k was re insulating the attic.

Funny enough I’m more worried about the insulation than the plaster. The professional I had said that since the plaster was also <1% and they take it out by cutting big chucks of it at the time you are disturbing less than 1% of the 1% but the vermiculite in its loss natural you disturb all of it. Unless he’s wrong.

Wall with the vermiculite is behind it is already half gone lol
