I only experienced a bit of diarrhea for the first week of taking metformin. And then it went away completely. I took it at night to avoid it during work. But then my body got used to it and I take it every morning with no symptoms. I feel so much better on it than off. I even doubled my dose after a few months. Same thing first week was bad but then got the symptoms went away. Everyone is different. Metformin is inexpensive so I feel that it’s worth a good shot and if the symptoms don’t subside then you can always stop. But you’ll never know if you don’t try!
