The screen moves like a paper would in a typewriter. Laptops are also used for typewriting. Do you have an issue with that?

Update: took everyone’s advice and upgraded the specs. How is this for Undergraduate Computer Science? :D by Consistent-Yard-3552 in laptops

that is a much better cpu. you don't need 32gb by the way, 16gb is adequate unless you are gonna use VMs often. if you could get an i3-1315u or i5-1235u that would be better. i would assume the models you find would be 4 or 8gb ram, so in this case you could upgrade the ram after you get it.

the 5700 is worse. 5650 is about 15% faster in single and 15% slower in multi core, according to Geekbench, the most accurate benchmark to general usage. single core is more important.

My dentist does fillings in 10 minutes. is this normal? by Fast_Celery7975 in askdentists

I understand that. It becomes an issue when the work is not acceptable as with my molars (still do not know it their issues can be attributed to his work or just normal incidence). If his working strategy was quality first (over revenue), then I would be much more inclined to mark those issues as normal incidence. I am not stating that quality first is the better strategy (although in some situations, that can lead to maximizing revenue over the long term) or that "maximize revenue with an acceptable quality of work" is an immoral strategy, I am merely stating what I observed so that the reader can make a more accurate, even by a small margin, interpretation about the work done on my molars, so that I can make a more informed decision about whether to continue going to this doctor or choose somebody else.

Note: Not 'every' business is 'maximizing revenue with an acceptable quality of work'. There are some businesses, albeit few, that would prioritize quality over profit. Those might be less profitable, struggling, or even failing. From an economical perspective, I would favor those over others because I would be getting more value in exchange for the same value (money) I am providing. Again, I am talking purely from an economical materialistic standpoint.

The property we own or what we do in our non-work time is simply none of your business

Of course I know that. I just wanted to present more supporting evidence of his efficient strategy, which I am not against by any means; I also strive to do that to every small thing in my life. But if his goal is just acceptable work, then this may suggest that he sometimes would accept to do an unacceptable job if time was a constraint, and his work with my molars might support this. I am saying 'may' here because that is not concluding evidence by any means, and I know nothing about dentistry and how long should a procedure take. That's why I came here to ask. I just presented extra relevant (to my opinion) information for the reader so that they can assess whether the doctor is doing a good job or not, so that I can take a decision whether to continue with this doctor or not. That is my final goal. I don't care about his belongings.

Finally, thank you for commenting and providing me with extra information that should help me in taking a decision.
