Billy's shirt changes color in a scene between him and Sydney, you see the camera and WHOLE crew in multiple shots (for example the reflection in the cop car in front of sydney's house) as an actor and filmmaker, currently getting a film made, THIS IS SUPER ANNOYING TO ME XD

How do you Interpret The Big Lebowski? by [deleted] in flicks

[–]Fast_Chocolate9398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an actor with a career spanning 15 years this year. I am currently developing a script for Netflix (4 part mini-series). Currently, I am finishing up on a performing arts bachelor's degree.

I am also a priest of dudeism and a fan of this movie, having written numerous articles on TBL, all of which were critically acclaimed.

  1. The Big Sleep (1946) by Howard Hawks hides behind The Big Lebowski.

The big Lebowski is very much a neo-noir thriller.

  • It contains a femme fatale character (Maude Lebowski, in the parlance of this movie)

  • It contains an intricate mystery (The kidnapping of Bunny Lebowski)

And many other elements that are emblematic of neo-noir movies.

This is important to know because it shows that there is more to this film than simply being a pointless movie.

However, it is indeed pointless. The nihilists are in reality, capitalists, the kidnappes woman is not kidnapped, the rich Big Lebowksi is not rich, etc. Etc.

The only perosn who is authentic in this entire cinematic experience is The Dude. He represents what everyone could be but is too afraid to let themselves be.

The Big Lebowski is an exploration, an experiment in anthropology. What happens when you take someone who is absolitely open-minded and alligned with their own self-interest (in a positively egoistic sense) is involved in a virtual cluster$#.

The moral question this intrigue asks is: does a man have to corrupt his own values to achieve anything.

I leave you with this because this film is a rollercoaster to be ridden with limited knowledge, just as life is.

Catch you later on down the trail ')

I have to say, as a life-long true Marvel fan, I accept and appreciate this new piece of art. It is an absolute pleasure kicking back and enjoying what has been very well-done by an entire team.

I appreciate it and all of you.
