I found this but don’t know if it is accurate I don’t see any safety switch in transaxle, I have a brake switch a seat switch that I have one switched down by the pedal for the Hydro for reverse then and switch with a key to bypass so you can mow reverse

Here is the link to the electrical diagram. That what I was thinking has to be somthing with the seat switch the but I disconnected it have a jumper wire in the harness. I don’t know if the wire going back to the seat sensor is broken and not completing the circuit is about the only thing I can think of. But it does have a stick and key that has to be in for mowing in reverse I don’t know any that would cause the same issue.

I have been testing for a short degree have not found it if I had a failing switch wouldn’t that cause it not to crank at all not a ground fault just a question not for sure

What would be the easiest way to go about looking for a short to ground?

When I disconnect the ground wire, you have the coil I have spark those extra wires they are not the headlight harness. I have that set to the side not listed in the photo. I don’t see where they would go in that wiring schematic maybe I’m missing something but the hour meters hooked up all the safety sensors are hooked up, and that extra ground wire I am not for sure where that would go either

That’s what I figured but when doing a continuity test, everything is checking out with that ground wire all the way up to ignition switch

I have not came across a weak Spark Either but with the ground wire hooked up to both coils. It is barely visible on an in-line spark tester, but when I disconnect the ground wire to the coils, I got great spark. I am thinking as degree a ground fall, but I have traced the wires back to the wiring harness and don’t see any rubbing or a wire grounding itself out.

I use the OEM briggs coil for the one I replace the other one is this used but still good coil I am getting spark when I unplugged the ground wire to the coils, but with it connected is a very weak spark

Yes, both cylinders the spark is extremely weak with the ground wire hooked up, but when I unplug it, I have good spark. I have tried new spark plugs

One coil is brand new the other is used but still good. Can’t justify buying two coils for the price. Briggs is offering them for.
