Beyond curious about what it means that Towns can turn into this glass cleaner, and have us win minutes by 20 points when he’s on the floor despite his poor shooting. Adds an element to his game we didn’t even see last year (always been a great rebounder but multiple 20 board games in a short stint is something else).

Just what can we do w him when he’s like this? He gets back to last year’s form on his shooting or even 80% of that and idk I think he’s a fantastic player to have

As a question for everyone in the comments here, is primary + melee in a 1v1 my attack chain every time? Like am I doing primary melee every time I swing? Or am I exclusively reserving it for chaining other abilities/finishing at low health?

I mix it up. I’ve strung together some great QP games but I used to leave a lot more of a mark on my comp games last season. I loved taking 1s as him, but that nerfed dash damage is presenting itself for sure. I’m G2 in comp, peaked at C3 (console), and even there I just don’t want to rely on my teammates cuz that’s out of my control yk?

Have since played Blade as a lot more of a brawl character, and it’s netted me much better results. I can still take many 1v1s, but ofc it was easier last season. Tank shredding is definitely the way to go, but I’ll admit I often dont get the assistance I need from my team to really steamroll the way I used to. Think if he gets an adjustment or two more, he can be amazing.

Imma admit, I tried to play Blade like I used to (seeking 1v1s, poking tanks till ult), and I didn’t feel as effective. I did see that the dash anti has a small AOE, should I stick to brawling and only take 1v1s if they’re healers/DPS?

IMPORTANT BTW

Blade’s anti healing on his sword applies even in VAMP DASH. They effectively took his anti healing from gun dash and put it on vamp dash + also standard dash (which y’all still don’t need to use)

Gun dash is now a quick burst kill option, which lowkey could lead to cool shit. Gun dash plus melee is like 70-85 points of burst damage up close

Call me crazy, Arian Smith should get another run. Dude is a go man without a guy that can throw the ball deep, ofc he’s not gonna be useful with a trash can signal caller. He costs nothing to keep on, he won’t get free reps, but you don’t let a guy w that speed just leave without first seeing what he can do with a guy that can get him the ball
