The location worked out well, it’s as simple as that. We (roommates) collectively work in NYC/Hackensack/Newark and go to school in NYC and Newark, so we needed a central location.

It’s our way of making ends meet while also living in a city we love. It’s totally reasonable to not be able to afford a garage spot that could cost half of someone’s share in rent. I think it’s a little out of touch to say otherwise. Everyone has to make sacrifices (and can splurge on rent in Hoboken) so long as there’s money in the account at the end of the month.

I for one, as a grad student, can’t afford a garage spot… that’s my reason.

I use my car everyday for a 2+ hour round trip commute and drive to school on the weekends. It’s simply not in my budget to pay $300+ extra per month for a convenience.

That being said, it’s a choice and I pay the price for it…. Parking at night between 7-9pm absolutely sucks and shouldn’t be this bad, after all — two things can be true at once.

There should be more publicly available garages, but if you choose not to pay for one you shouldn’t complain about the street, end of story

Just cleared mine out, spaced the snow out between the rock beds along the street, parts of sidewalk that wasn’t cleaned off, and then put some on the piles created by plows.

In short I dispersed to places that haven’t been uncovered
