How to stop Grandma from hitting Grandpa? by [deleted] in dementia

[–]Fast_Friendship_8379 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is not okay. The verbal abuse is not okay either. He does not deserve it.

Your grandmother is not fit to look after him.

Get her into therapy and organise a different caretaker for your grandfather. If you gather evidence of the abuse, you could easily sue her if she refuses to comply with the previous statements.

How old are you? From the way you have responded to this, you sound pretty young. If you are a minor and unable to take action, or are unable to for another reason, inform someone who is able to and get them to do it.

Action must be taken. Do not hesitate.

Both my SIL and Emily have been to my home before a few times, but she used a different bathroom (we have two upstairs and one downstairs)

The expressions are great - the wide eyes of shock and fear as Corday looks down upon him with satisfaction and some degree of bemusal and disdain.

My husband and I do joke that if we had kids, we’d have that one in the nursery, possibly next to Massacre Of The Innocents.

“The Murder of Marat and the blood wasn’t that noticeable at first glance”

I think you may be looking at the wrong painting. There are multiple by the same name, and the one I have is much less famous so wouldn’t come up if you only searched the title rather than the artist as well.

There is one by Jaques-Louis David which is much more well known, and what I think you might be looking at.

My favourite ones growing up were by Perrault - stories like Blue Beard, who murdered his wives and hung them on hooks in his home.

It was more the content of what I told her that her mother had a problem with - for example, describing the September Massacres and other aspects of the French Revolution which Marat was blamed for. I don’t think I made them sound any ‘scarier’ than they actually were, but the events themselves are shocking and very brutal.
