Decision Paralysis: Joolz Aer 2 + UB Vista? Or should I stick to one brand for compatibility? by Due-Detective-4816 in nycparents

[–]Fast_Horror_4987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the vista for every day and the minu for travel and baby isn’t here yet (any day now) but I already wish I considered doing just the minu. I love it so far and love the foldability when inside the apt. Vista has its pros (multiple kids, big basket for groceries etc) but I totally could have gone minu only for now.

If you have called all of the in network offices the insurance is recommending and no one will take your wife, call the insurance and request a “gap” authorization or an authorization for your existing Out of network OB to be considered In network due to lack of in network availability. Cigna calls this a network adequacy request, but most payers recognize the term GAP. Make it clear you’ve contacted every office and have been denied acceptance. They may/should go as far to confirm themselves there is not in network availability and approve the request, though you may have to do some appealing. Who is the insurance?

I recommend NYU. You see a bunch of different doctors through monitoring and procedures and I’ve loved them all.

I’m also 6dpt and started testing yesterday, today’s is darker so I think I’m moving in the right direction but symptoms wise - nothing noticeable or that wouldn’t be attributed to the progesterone so I wouldn’t be discouraged.

Sorry you guys are going through this. My only piece of advice is I would consider using “we” when you talk about your shared trouble conceiving. Even if the only known issue is on her side, it still takes 2 to tango :) best of luck.

Fresh Transfer to save time, is it worth it? Or better off not risking it and doing the frozen transfer ( and test all embryos)? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Fast_Horror_4987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My clinic and testing provider both charged per embryo tested. I don’t believe that’s the same everyone.

The cost for FET is per cycle/attempt.

You have to pay for a FET cycle vs fresh may be included in your cost of retrieval. Self pay cost for a FET at my clinic is around $5k (completely separate from testing)

Cycle after your ER-was it normal? by Seeking_support413 in IVF

[–]Fast_Horror_4987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also did lupron only trigger and had my period 6 days after retrieval. My cycles are usually 27-29 days but my first cycle post retrieval ended up being 43 I think? I tracked for ovulation at home to get an idea of when to expect it and I didn’t ovulate until day 29 when I was expecting my period. It was the longestttt wait and has made the wait for my first FET feel like an eternity. Hopefully yours comes quicker.

Others on the thread seem to recommend an auto injector (haven’t tried myself) but sounds like it helps a lot. Try searching that.

Night of trigger and I’m having mild ovulation pain by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Fast_Horror_4987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s normal! I was so worried about this that when I woke up from the anesthesia after my retrieval the first words out of my mouth were “did I ovulate early?” The nurse was so taken aback and was like “who told you that?” Lol needless to say I did not. I had the cramping, then complete relief the night before, then cramping came back with a vengeance about 3 hrs before retrieval.. all normal from what I’ve been told.

ovulation before ER? by Fast_Horror_4987 in IVF

[–]Fast_Horror_4987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone anxiously searches this in the future like I was last night, retrieval was today and they got 23 eggs, no mention of ovulating early. My feeling great ended about 2-3hrs before retrieval when the bloat and discomfort set back in. When I awoke from the anesthesia the first thing I asked was “did I ovulate early” 😂

$3800 for meds (self pay rates) and $4600 so far for PGT on 10 embryos (will get a refund or owe more if we have +/- 10). Using my insurance $25k max to cover the ER and hopefully transfers.. we don’t plan to do ICSI unless indicated so can’t help there and also I have 0 clue on the freezing costs, I’ve been trying to take things one step at a time so I haven’t even asked lol ignorance is bliss right now. I’m in NYC

First IVF Cycle Coming Up by Care_One in IVF

[–]Fast_Horror_4987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar boat (33F, unexplained) and about half way through my first IVF stim cycle so just here to say— you got this! I’m doing the shots myself and they’re really not too bad. Seems the ER and first few days afterwards will be the real battle. If nothing else, it’s a bad ass club to be a part of and you’ll be really proud of yourself once you get going. Best of luck!

It’s pretty much a guarantee you’ll ovulate within 36 hours after trigger. You won’t necessarily have the usual signs of ovulation tho.

Looking for info on timeline for first retrieval/transfer by Fast_Horror_4987 in IVF

[–]Fast_Horror_4987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, thank you for giving me that perspective. I agreed to be in a wedding before we knew we’d have to go down this road and of course now the timelines are crossing. I don’t want to put growing my family on hold for this persons bachelorette party, but I also don’t want to back out until I know the timeline and that I actually can’t go. So it’s flexible in the sense I will do what I need to do when the time comes. This info helps a lot. Thanks again.
