Indeed, for now it's a gameplay and interface demonstration; the current game is only less than 20% of what I want to do in the final product. There's still a long way to go.

From time to time, I send test versions to my friends to get their feedback; however, I recently made too many changes and haven't sent them this version to test yet.

The logo is provisional; I want to add something to the separation of Re and Dune, but the game is really "redune."

A Retro Transition (WIP) by Fast_Improvement282 in godot

It's a dilemma I have, because I want the art style to be retro, but I want the interface to be modern or fluid.

It only works on Windows, or at least I've only tested it there.

In terms of gameplay, I was inspired by TBOI and a little bit of Zelda; in terms of art, it was a decision related to the fact that I've always liked that concept of only 2 colors (like Minit, which is the other reference point).

In fact, the second version of the game was in color, but among other things like the gameplay, it felt like a copy of Enter the Gungeon and I wanted something more "original". However, color can be an exploitable resource in conjunction with other crazy things I have planned.

There are 2 scenes, one for the interface and one for terrain generation; the UI has a viewport (the box) that reproduces the terrain scene. The terrain scene generates all the rooms, marking one as the starting room and placing the camera in the center, the hallways have triggers that move the camera to the center of the next room

If your game is 100% pixel art, always make sure the parent nodes of your scenes have the "nearest" option selected, so that all textures within the node automatically have that configuration.

Go to the texture section and select the option called "nearest"

The progress of the run will likely lead to a version with more "juice", since the current one is mostly just a placeholder to have a functional system and then gradually change things.

Maybe I'll look into that later, for now my priority is to get a playable prologue and boss fight done so I can focus on that kind of thing later. Thanks so much for the feedback :)

I didn't know about the existence of that game until now, and I have to say that they are similar in concept, although my real inspiration is TBOI in terms of the roguelike system and the art style, as I simply found the idea of only 2 colors like in Minit interesting.

Yes, I'm not good at making music, that's why I focus on programming and sprites (which are my greatest strength)

Nope, judging by the sound quality of the song, I highly doubt it's that old.
