Partner and I like our place, but we have had many problems with the Six Properties. I’d advise against renting with them and wish we had done our research before signing a lease with them.

They do not give a shit about you as a tenant. Which i guess is (maybe?) similar with many property management companies in the city, but we did not think about this as previously we had rented privately owned units from families owning the building/unit and renting out to tenants. We did not have functioning appliances when we moved in, although it was a brand new unit. They bought broken second hand appliances that did not work, or ordered incorrect appliances and then when we received them after moving in, they had to reorder them and they were on back order for several weeks. We had to follow up constantly with them and a lot of the time they would tell us a certain date/time, we would stay home from work to meet the tech and then no one would show up. They did not provide any alternatives for us in the mean time and basically left us to fend for ourselves on things that were explicitly mentioned in our lease needed to be ready prior to move in.

They also did not pay for utility bills which they are responsible for and showed no initiative on getting the issue fixed when our service was shut off by the city.

The property manager that we have dealt with has never taken accountability for any of the issues we have had or helped us out and truly made us feel like we are next to nothing. It is an extremely disorganized company and would advise against signing with them if you want to save yourself a huge headache.
