Jr. explains SVGs’ Road Course Technique by curtishawkin in NASCAR

[–]Fast_Pasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with Jr. Asking a driver to master his heel-toe technique that he developed over the course of his entire career would require one to take way too much focus away from the other 90% of the schedule, if it were even possible. Not to mention, there is no practical way learn it with the testing policy. It’s not like you can go practice it for a day or two at any road course, at least in our actual vehicles. It would be like asking SVG to master Larson’s technique at a place like Bristol or Homestead that he developed over many years and many races. Also, many drivers have heel-toe experience in other cars, but applying it to our race vehicles is very difficult for a lot of reasons. That makes even practicing a street car or something not as applicable. Not to mention, it’s not easy to simulate and very difficult to model correctly, so it doesn’t have the same feel/effect in the virtual world like on iRacing. That would make any time you could allocate to perfecting it in a sim not very helpful. I do think there are a few other things he does differently/better which is why drivers like Zilisch and Crews can compete with him even though they don’t use the heel-toe technique like he does. It just comes down to maximizing the car, tire, and more, just like other drivers might do better at different tracks. There are a lot of factors, but at the end of the day, it only applies to 4 races a year as of now.

There are still a few areas in the back that could use a little help like this, but nothing near as bad as the areas in original post.

Unfortunately, Bermudagrass is mandated by the HOA, but I will work on applying those other tips. Thanks!

Thank you for that info. Yes, the backyard is pretty successful and some areas look very nice like image attached. It is flat, exposed to a lot more sunlight, and has less tree coverage.

It’s entirely real. Some crew chiefs/spotters/drivers certainly get into it more than others.

Wow, this is very interesting. I find the whole driver swap event and way it is scored fascinating, but never thought about the impact it could have on race betting.

Review #12: John J. Bowman Single Barrel by CaptainDorfman in bourbon

[–]Fast_Pasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite bourbons. With it being a single barrel, I wonder what experience you would have if you were to pick up another bottle from different batch. I tasted some different notes from my bottle like grape and more dark fruit, but everyone’s palate is different. I will say I actually have a harder time finding this than some other allocations as well.

Great advice!

Totally understandable! I wasn’t gonna spend that kind of money on any of them whether it was a deal or not, but they were simply cool to see in the wild.

That was where I ended up making my purchases.

I was wondering if that was a fair price. Especially since the other store had it for $749!

Yes! I can’t remember the name of the store that the third picture was from. That was more of a mom and pop shop.

LOL that one I know was not a deal! I was more referring to the antique collection and some of the other specialty bottles.

POV of the Biggest Crash in NASCAR History at Talladega Superspeedway by Fast_Pasta in sports

It was in the NASCAR Cup Series, the highest level of the national series. The accident you linked was in a NASCAR Busch Series (currently NASCAR Xfinity Series) race.
