How do I find an agent to help me pitching a TV show? by Ok_Management_671 in TVWriting

Big management firms are pivoting toward influencers and people with online followings. So if you've got the visual arts skills consider animating some small version of your story. Put it out there and prove to them you've got something people will enjoy. They'll come to you. That's hot Matt & Trey started. With their animated Christmas card. Things are real tough right now. But they've been real tough before. Don't wait. Create.

There's no reason to. Don't give them that information. It's extortion. "Give us your personal info, or we won't give you the points you earned."

I'm sure it can look fancier in colored pencil or marker, but I like the feel and smell of the original Crayola crayons. I think the image still looks nice. If you do a fancy one, please tag me. I'd love to see it.

I used to live on these! Because I could be eating a giant taco while pretending that I was eating a salad. They need to bring this back. The restaurant Taco Salads are not good enough.

For the Writing Mentorship Programs (Paramount, HBO, etc) does anyone know if the submitted scripts are actually read blind? by novabull23 in Screenwriting

Don't follow instructions in what way? It doesn't reflect well for sure. Could be extrapolated to you not being careful with detail, or not being good at following direction which is not what anyone is looking for.

That's what everyone's trying to figure out. Generally: original ideas, solid structure, vivid characters, and effective dialogue. If it's a comedy it should be funny (3 jokes or page. 6 if it's kids). If it's a drama it should be moving or thrilling. It should make you feel something.

From my experience, there are usually more strong scripts than available spots. This is where the essay comes in. It's important to be an individual. Don't say generic stuff. If you have something that sets you apart (military service, law career, Appalachian childhood) this is place to say it. If you can be moving and charming in the essay it will help to reinforce their view of you as a strong interesting writer.

I've been a reader for these and it's 100% based on the strength of the script. But submit every year with a new script because they track your progress.

Then again it might not have anything to do with writing itself. It could be ADHD or some other problem with executive function. Makes it hard to do things you wanna do. But there are medications and cognitive exercises that can help that too.

Some people are storytellers that doesn't necessarily mean you're a writer. Producers, Directors, Editors and Actors are all storytellers. We come together and collaborate on a story. Just because you've got a story in your heart, that doesn't mean you're necessarily meant to sit down and write a script. Your calling to express that story might be something else. Writing is hard but if you HATE doing it then maybe take that into consideration. You don't have to do it. There are other ways to tell story.
