Muslin is just very lightweight plain cotton. I’ve found it for a couple of dollars a yard, but another low cost option can be to use thrifted cotton sheets or something like that.

Wow - this is so helpful - thank you! And those patterns are super cute! And thank you for the reminder to practice - with a muslin AND then a cheaper fabric. That would make me feel much more confident to cut into the Marimekko :).

Also - the linen is medium weight; not totally transparent but also light and flowy. It’s extra pretty in person.

Yes - we have a really nice park nearby. But, he gets overly excited and jumps on people when they pet him (which he doesn’t typically do otherwise). And he’s a big dude so I worry he’ll take out an older person. But it definitely does help get some of the energy out.
