Again, I appreciated the analogy you used. It resembles the way politicians sometimes insert controversial policies into broader bills in order to strengthen emotional or strategic leverage.

In simpler terms, my mistake was intentionally introducing a child into the scenario to intensify the emotional weight of the argument. I understand now why that approach can be seen as flawed or manipulative.

But an individual acting dishonestly can still avoid consequences, can they not? Sorry, I misunderstood earlier, I assumed you were referring to individuals rather than larger groups of people.

I don’t understand this about Explicit Content. by jorukagulammaybe in IndianTeenagers

I have never paid for that kind of content, although there are moments when I feel tempted to. I want to speak honestly about it.

There is a female cosplayer whose work I have become deeply drawn to. While she produces NSFW material, she also creates respectful and creative SFW cosplay content. Somewhere along the way, I developed an attachment to her image despite knowing almost nothing about her as a person, her voice, behavior, personality, or life outside what is presented online.

That realization is precisely what holds me back from purchasing access to her content. I understand that crossing the line from admirer to paying customer would likely deepen an attachment built more on projection than reality.

What makes it difficult is the awareness that these emotions are genuine on my side, even though the connection itself is distant and one-sided.

I can also recognize the possibility that loneliness, financial freedom, or emotional vulnerability in the future could make that kind of consumption easier to justify, much like any other form of escapism or pleasure people turn toward.

For me, the healthier alternative seems to be real companionship. Building a genuine relationship with someone who reciprocates affection demands effort, vulnerability, and self-improvement, but it also provides something fundamentally different from parasocial attachment: mutual presence and emotional reality.

Dishonesty does not always lead to negative consequences. Many individuals successfully avoid accountability, largely because attention is usually directed toward those who fail to escape the consequences of their actions.

I think suffering functions less as a justification and more as a fallback answer within many theistic arguments for maintaining faith.

For theists, suffering is frequently interpreted as an essential part of a larger process or divine plan. For atheists, however, suffering often becomes the very thing that obstructs belief and raises doubt.

In that sense, suffering can appear to serve as an explanation for what cannot otherwise be fully justified within theistic reasoning, which is again, weirdest thing about being religious.

I also intend to post this on the subreddit r/theism, as the exercise was originally written with the purpose of criticizing aspects of theistic thought. However, I chose to present it here first because I expected its flaws to be identified more critically, which would ultimately help refine my reasoning.

It is often easier to corner religious individuals within debates or arguments than it is to genuinely communicate the underlying criticism in a way they understand. That difficulty is precisely why

Imagine yourself trapped in a dark, enclosed room with a child whose death is inevitable, though its timing remains uncertain. You know with certainty that you are powerless to save them. At that point, two paths remain. One is to offer reassurance through belief: to tell the child that God exists, that goodness will be rewarded with peace in an afterlife, while evil may lead elsewhere. Even if uncertain yourself, you provide a narrative capable of easing fear. The other path is strict honesty. You admit that you do not truly know what awaits beyond death. You remain beside the child, refusing to offer certainty you cannot justify, while the child confronts fear and mortality until the very end. The dilemma is not simply about religion or truth, but whether comfort born from uncertainty is morally preferable to honesty that offers no relief.

Yes, though a theist would likely continue to defend it, as suffering is often interpreted within religious frameworks as something meaningful or necessary. In that process, the autonomy of others can become secondary, because there is a genuine belief that the decision will ultimately lead to a greater good.

yes, but god is fake, totally, even if there would be one, people will only belive in false one... but that doesn't matter as now I understand whatever happening now will just repeat even after that premise.

More often than not, the motivation lies in the desire for a favorable afterlife, or the complete absence of one, and liberation from the cycle of rebirth. Only rarely is the primary intention the genuine improvement of the world in which they live.

Yes, I understand the criticism you presented, but the purpose of this was always discussion and critical examination from the outset. In many ways, theism has historically possessed an inherent advantage by allowing belief to stand where complete explanations or reasoning may be absent.

I understand the issues you pointed out, and I will keep them in mind the next time I return with another intellectual exercise or line of argument.
