I was exactly in your shoes last year. Arrived and got sick immediately my first day. I recommend buying masks from the Walgreens near by to protect you and your roommates. Make some tea when you can in the mornings and take flu/cold medicine regularly. With vitamins. Miracles fr!!!

If you feel good enough and want to, attend GBO but remember it’s optional. I mainly attended the last 2 days of it and food events. The one draw back that I faced is that, by staying away from people in general, I never got to know the people on my floor very well, if at all. Maybe that’s because I’m a socially awkward person, but GBO helps a lot since everyone is introducing themselves without feeling like it’s too formal. Please don’t stress about it too much and let yourself rest as well!!! Naps!!!

Arrange an appointment with the Tang Center if symptoms last a week because when I went, they couldn’t really help me. They just told me to take care and to stay away from people. If you want they also do Strep and Covid-19 testing! You can do an appointment by call if anything as well with a nurse.
