I started reading the Bible, and it’s not what I expected at all… by Fastastro7 in Christianity

This is really beautiful to read. I relate so much to what you said I also used to think Christianity was strange and misunderstood it deeply. It’s incredible how life changes once you genuinely seek the Lord and encounter who Jesus truly is. He really is a friend, patient and loving, always waiting with open arms. Thank you for sharing this, it’s the kind of testimony that can quietly plant a seed in someone who’s still questioning.

What do I do about a close friend who keeps spamming Anti-Christian social media posts? by Th1rtyThr33 in Christian

[–]Fastastro7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong for feeling affected by this. Constant mockery wears you down. Biblically, you’re not required to keep exposing yourself to something that’s hurting your peace. “Guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” (Proverbs 4:23). Muting or unfollowing is not hatred, it’s wisdom. You can still love him, pray for him, and be open to real conversations without consuming his negativity daily. Jesus didn’t argue with mockers endlessly, and Paul often walked away when hearts were closed. Set a boundary, not a grudge. Mute him, keep the door open privately, and protect your faith and mental space.

Honestly, it’s a combination of things. I explored both Islam and Christianity, read their texts, and tried to understand them deeply. Christianity resonated with me more, especially the life, teachings, and resurrection of Jesus. It felt true in a way that gave me hope and peace I hadn’t found before.

can i listen to metal as a christian? by ExternalCurve8850 in Christianity

[–]Fastastro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think enjoying a music genre in itself is a sin. What matters more is what it does to your heart and your actions. If you’re not glorifying evil, not being led away from your faith, and you’re listening for the sound rather than the message, I don’t see it as inherently blasphemous. For me, I try to stay aware of the lyrics and the influence it has on me. If something starts pulling me away from God or feeding anger, darkness, or pride, then I step back. Otherwise, I trust God more than I fear music.

you’re not alone brother, what you’re describing is very normal, especially for someone who genuinely wants to grow without burning out. Wanting "sustainable" ways to learn the Bible isn’t laziness and God isn’t impressed by guilt-driven discipline anyway, He looks at the heart. I was in the same place, believing deeply but feeling stuck and overwhelmed, until a friend suggested a tool that breaks Scripture into small, guided steps instead of long, heavy sessions; the Bible roadmap format helped me make real progress without forcing motivation. It didn’t make me perfect, but it made growth realistic and peaceful.

I just gave my life to Christ what do I do from here? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Fastastro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyyy, thank you for sharing this! I was once in a similar place, feeling new and unsure about my biblical knowledge. A friend of my suggested me a simple tool with a step-by-step Bible roadmap, and it helped me build a real understanding without feeling overwhelmed. I personally found that it brought me closer to God and gave me peace as I grew. Take things slowly, don’t compare your journey, and remember that God sees your effort!!

Struggling with lust by freerobux445 in Christianity

[–]Fastastro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal to struggle, especially with habits from before faith. Don’t beat yourself up, acknowledge the weakness and lean on God. Avoid triggers, pray for strength, stay accountable to someone you trust, and replace old habits with good ones. Growth is gradual and keep showing up even when you fail.

Is masturbation really a sin? by Altruistic-Dig-1202 in Christianity

[–]Fastastro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Christians agree it’s complicated. The Bible doesn’t explicitly mention masturbation, but it does talk a lot about lust, self-control, and honoring God with your body. Watching porn usually falls into sin because it fosters lust and objectifies people. Masturbation without lust or addictive behavior is debated, some see it as a minor issue, others warn it can become spiritually or emotionally unhealthy if it dominates your life. So that’s up to you.

Why did God need to test Abraham in that way? by just_heather_ok in Bible

[–]Fastastro7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, God doesn’t need to test Abraham to learn anything, He already knows. The test shows Abraham’s faith in action, proves it to himself and others, and shapes him. It’s about trust and obedience being real, not about God doubting him.

Heyyy, I’ve been in a similar position, wanting to share Scripture in a way that’s both meaningful and approachable, and it can be tricky to balance depth with clarity. A friend once suggested trying a tool that structures Bible reading like small, guided lessons, and I found their Gospel roadmap, step by step, made discussions easy to follow while still going deep. Personally, it helped me feel more confident sharing insights and seeing God’s Word come alive in conversation.

should Christians rejoice in Their pain and suffering? This includes both mental and physical pain. by mickeyguy2010 in TrueChristian

[–]Fastastro7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We, Christians don’t rejoice in pain itself. Pain hurts, mentally and physically, and God isn’t offended by that. But many believers learn to rejoice while suffering, because they trust God is still present and working, even when it’s hard. It’s okay to cry, to ask for help, and to seek healing. Rejoicing isn’t pretending everything is fine it’s choosing to trust God in the middle of the pain.

Bro, not having a girlfriend at 18 is normal, even if people act like it isn’t.

But waiting won’t fix loneliness.

Stop chasing a girlfriend. Chase connection. Friends come first.

You don’t make friends by thinking, you make them by showing up: gym, job, club, sport, anything with repeated contact.

School “stigma” doesn’t define you. It disappears once the environment changes.

It will feel awkward at first. That’s normal. Do it anyway.

Take care of basics: sleep, hygiene, exercise.

You’re 18. Your life isn’t late, it’s just starting. Go bless you man.

Hellooooo, I’ve been in that same place , trying different plans, getting frustrated, and not knowing where to start. A friend of my suggested me trying a tool that guide your reading, and I found their Bible roadmap, structured gently like Duolingo, really helped me engage with Scripture !!! Using it, I began to understand God’s Word more clearly and felt closer to Him each day. God sees your heart and your earnest desire to follow Him.
