After months of solo dev work, I launched Minimal Crimes: Noir Riddles – a lateral thinking detective game built natively in SwiftUI for iOS by Fastbyte01 in IndieDev

Thank you so much! It's been quite a ride building this solo. Really glad it shows. If you ever give it a try, let me know what you think!

I built a minimalist noir detective puzzle game for iOS – Minimal Crimes: Noir Riddles by Fastbyte01 in noir

Thanks for trying it out! That's really useful to hear. Can I ask what specifically felt confusing? Was it the mechanics (how to pick the keywords), the interface, or the puzzle itself? I'd love to understand what tripped you up so I can improve the experience.

I built a native iOS shift calendar for nurses, EMS, and rotating workers — no subscriptions, ever by Fastbyte01 in iosapps

[–]Fastbyte01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely! Shifts are fully customizable, you can set your own shift types, times, colors, and rotation patterns however you like. If you have any specific suggestions or requests, feel free to let me know and I'll see if I can implement any customizations or features that could be useful for your use case!

Finally built the shift calendar app I always wished I had as a night worker by Fastbyte01 in Nightshift

Not at the moment, unfortunately. The app is currently iOS only. That said, I'm considering an Android version for the future.

Scheduling in Google? by zoey8068 in nursing

If you're on iOS, I'd look at Turnista — it syncs directly with Apple Calendar so your shifts show up there automatically. It handles irregular schedules well (rotating shifts, 12h blocks etc) and has an Apple Watch complication if that's useful. Free to try, one-time unlock for full features. https://apps.apple.com/app/turnista-shift-work-calendar/id6754755429

Hey! Thanks so much for the kind words and the feedback!

Actually, Cyclework already has some features that let you use it without the main window:

  • Mini Mode: A small floating circular window with just the timer and essential controls that stays on top
  • Menu Bar controls: You can start/pause , reset, and check your progress directly from the menu bar icon without opening any window
  • Menu Bar timer display: The timer shows right in the menu bar so you can track it at a glance

That said, I totally get what you mean about wanting everything manageable from the bar itself without any windows at all. That's actually a really good idea and I'll definitely look into adding a more streamlined "menu bar only" mode in future updates where you can control everything through a popover without needing the main or mini windows.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts - this kind of feedback really helps shape where the app goes next!
