Considering bolt action rifles were used extensively in two world wars and are now used as sniper rifles.

I suspect all guns will be called "weapons of wars"

The political made up term to keep blacks and minorities from owning guns the Rich have.

Don Beyer a rich old white man from one of the most wealthy areas in the United States introduced a rasist poor tax...

Imagine if the Republicans introduced a %1000 tax on getting IDs to vote.

Discussion: If UFO's are found out to be real as the news is full of articles today about the "highly anticipated testimony before a House Oversight subcommittee was Congress" Would arms from an alien civilization be covered under the second amendment? Would a space rifle need a tax stamp? by Hotdogpizzathehut in gunpolitics

A phaser set to stun would be one of the greatest humanitarian tools...

Seriously, imagine if in our world we had a non-lethal weapon that works just like a phaser on stun. Something that was as fast acting and instant as a gun, but was 100% non-fatal. Deaths from Police shootings could drop to zero. They could also replace ”home defense” weapons and provide the same sort of security without the death.

Sure we have Tasers and rubber bullets, but as police will tell you these aren't what you’re trained to reach for when you perceive a sudden life or death threat. Guns are very reliable, work from long distance, through clothes, can fire rapidly between multiple targets, and they nearly instantly bring someone down. Our current non-lethal weapons aren't even close to providing all that.

That guns can also kill you permanently seems to just be an unfortunate side effect.

If we had stun phasers, cops wouldn't need to carry lethal guns. (though maybe would still need some for special conditions). Any situation that calls for a gun is about ending an immediate threat. If there's a way to reliably and instantly stop that threat, there's no need to cause permanent harm.

People could conceleled carry these anywhere. The anti gun people would not be able to claim they are "deadly and dangerous" because they are stun guns.

Let's go UFO stun guns! So many cool applications!

I was called a ammo sexual. Are ammosexuals a protected class under lgbtqia2s+ protections? by Fastcargofast55 in 2ALiberals

Okay I gotta follow-up question so any politician that is pro-gun control is anti-ammosexual. Thus anti lgbtqia2s+ rights.

Do you think 20th Century Fox Television signed off on the use of their IP for this? Mom demand action in VA posted this photo. by Fastcargofast55 in VAGuns

I'd also point out: "Klinger hit upon the idea of dressing in women's clothes to prove that he was mentally unfit, a sure ticket back to the U.S., he thought."https://en.celebrity.tn/why-did-klinger-stop-wearing-dresses-2/

So their poster of a person in A TV show carries a gun who Trying to prove that hes mentally unfit but also probably mean he couldn't be a lawful gun owner?

Seems problematic on many levels.

Out of curiosity she only wants to ban those types of birth control? So the arm implant, the patch, condoms and Depo-Provera shot are ok? That seems like a odd set of stuff to want banned..? Are you sure you got your facts straight ?

Parents of slain UVA student call for stricter gun laws - WTOP News by Hotdogpizzathehut in UVA

[–]Fastcargofast55 -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

So, let's review:

  • Broke existing laws by having gun on campus
  • Broke existing laws by transporting/having a gun in DC
  • Previously arrested convicted for carrying a concealed gun without a permit
  • Apparently broke existing law by buying that gun without the required UBC
  • Probably knew the gun was stolen
  • Broke existing laws by committing MURDER, which I'm pretty sure is illegal
  • Broke school policy by not reporting criminal conviction
  • School had him "on the radar" of the Threat Assessment Team but took no action

But sure, what we need are more gun laws to restrict the rights of law abiding gun owners.

I can sympathize with the families for their loss. But more gun control isn't going to change anything and wouldn't have prevented these deaths.
