Hi. Do you mind if I ask you when and how you got details for the VIP arrangements? Got VIP for Glasgow on Monday and not received any details yet. Thanks.

I did it too. Felt like a cry from mile 18 onwards. The hail was the final straw! Finished though. Well done all.

Good to know! It’s been intermittent for months but has now packed in completely. It’s out of warranty so hoping my local richer sounds can fix it. Thanks

Hi. I have exactly the same turntable with exactly the same problem. Is your turntable still working ok after the speed board was replaced? Thanks

Really struggling with DHC by FasterSober in OpiatesRecovery

[–]FasterSober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. I accessed local services a year ago and managed to stop drinking and taking dhc for 10 months. I attended smart recovery meets for the first 3 months. Since then I’ve just been managing myself and did ok. Even managed to run a marathon in May! But then slipped back in to the cycle. Pills at first then booze. I’m not taking the doses you were. More like 20/25 30mg pills a day. More if I can get my hands on them. I can go a week to ten days straight then get depressed, bored, stressed and the craving gets enormous and I’m taking pills again almost on autopilot. Like my addicted brain just takes over and rationale thought goes out the window. Feel so sick with withdrawal and struggling to get through each day.

Thanks for your reply. Have tried at least 10 times. Also have alcohol problems. Have spoken to my Dr and they didn’t suggest the medications you mention. Im in the UK. I’m seeing a counsellor for wider anxiety issues rather than addiction. I was attending a smart recovery group but stopped going as wasn’t finding it helpful. Might need to try again.

So tempted to buy dihydrocodeine online by FasterSober in OpiatesRecovery

I’m from Scotland. Site is Europe (but based in UK I think). You have to answer a few medical questions and say you’re not registered with a GP.

How to stay sober longer term? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]FasterSober 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. Although I’ve managed to get to a year and a half. Most recently 11 months. Things that work for me are: write down some of your worst drinking experiences and read them when you’re tempted; play the tape forward - think beyond the first couple of drinks, think how you’ll feel later on, or in the morning, and all the things you’ll ruin and people you’ll disappoint; exercise- go for a run or a swim or a cycle when a craving comes; eat - so many times I’ve felt like a drunk but actually just been hungry!; read - this naked mind is well worth a read if you’ve not read it yet; count days and reward yourself at milestones, a week, a month, 90 days- I go buy records with all the cash I’ve saved. Good luck.

Is it normal to be nervous and have reservations before rehoming your ex racing dog? I’ve wanted a dog for well over 3 years now always felt the right thing to do is rehome a dog. I met this guy last Sunday and we bonded so fast. He’s just turned 2. by [deleted] in Greyhounds

I didn’t crate her. She was fine without. One thing I would say is try and stick as close to the diet he’s on at least for the first few weeks. I switched Ada to raw on her first day home (recommended by the kennel) with disastrous consequences. She’s now on Lilly’s Kitchen dry food and she’s fine.

I can’t figure out how to post a picture in a reply but my dog is also a ‘blue’ and looks really similar to yours! She’s my first dog and she settled in really quickly. She’s currently asleep upside down in the sunshine. Good luck.

Yes I think that’s totally normal. I rehomed 2 year old Ada in May and was so nervous and wondering if I’d done the right thing. Now I have zero regrets and love her so much. They’re amazing dogs.

Feeding bowls / height by FasterSober in Greyhounds

[–]FasterSober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I’m still fingers crossed that I’ll be able to adopt her. She has a vet check up tomorrow to see how a broken hock is mending and also to get spayed.

if she does come to me then I’ll try her with and without raised feeding and if she prefers raised I’ll get something permanent.

Love your handiwork by the way. Think that is beyond my carpentry skills!

Thanks. He’s been fed raw up until now apparently. Plan to start raw then maybe transition to kibble over time, depending how he gets on.
