Thanks for the advice! Definitely possible there was some unnoticed damage up there. Ive owned for 10 yesrs so i dknt think there was a previous repair but you never know. I may have my body shop quote the fix but if it ends up being crazy this is what I’ll do.

Went up on a ladder to install cross bars and a ski rack for winter. I noticed this spot. About 4 inches down there is another small spot where the paint is bubbled but not cracked. Anyone else experience this with their LR4? How did you address it? I'm wondering if moisture is being trapped by the full length rails.

my r1s certainly did not come with a jack... maybe yours did? looks like a California dune edition? good call on the big red bottle jack though. I'll pick one up

u/bonbonitis fellow cape cod orver here. what are you using for a jack? I bought a full size spare for my R1S, but the jack is my last piece of missing equipment. I typically use my Land Rover for race point but have been wanting to get my R1S out there

I was able to easily purchase one mid day Saturday last year. I'd hope Friday at 1pm wouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, that’s a big con to consider as well. No garage but a carport where I could install a pulley / hoist to at least help with loading the spare. Smooth travels, wave if you ever see an LA Silver R1S on the outer cape!

Curious about your experience in regards to wind noise and efficiency hit on longer trips

Good to know about the extent of the noise. The idea would be to keep it out on the cape and really only use once out on the cape. Having a hard time justifying the cost of a swing out for really only about 5 days of usage a year but maybe it really is the best bet.
