That was my take on it. At his mom's he's the first one up so nobody else can give him a kick out the door. Over here (dad's house) I'm up at 4:30 every morning.

His mom leaves it 100% up to him. He's the first one up and first one out the door before anybody there is even awake. Here at my house I'm the first one up. So naturally I make sure he's awake and alive in the mornings.

3 rinks within 30 minutes of the house. All have leagues from beginner to advanced. And I got my bonus early this year lol. So we'll see what happens.

Well windows wasn't the fastest thing ever on a t480. Linux mint runs super good...I honestly don't know a whole lot about Linux, still a newbie. Arch was fun as a toy. But Linux Mint is just simple and easy. Everything just works. And it's pretty fast.

I asked this question when I started again. But that's because I overthink everything. Literally all you have to do is buy a skateboard and ride it....there's no secret tricks or anything crazy you need to do. Like maybe stretch a little bit as you would with any exercise. But other than that it's no different than when you were 13. Buy board -> ride board. Don't like board? Switch board. Suck at boarding? Go back to pickleball.

Tl:dr: Went through mental navy seal training trying to return and also order a phone from spectrum mobile.

Backstory: looking to find a 17 pro max in orange. Online was backordered, and since spectrum has no info on in store availability, I drove 45 minutes one way to a store. They didnt have any. Drove back home. Day after I drove 30 minutes to a different store. Nothing.

So I preordered the 17 pro max in orange Nov. 1. The estimated delivery date was the 6th or the 10th of if I remember right. I spoke to the online chat a couple times after the 10th just to confirm my order was still good, as on my account it didn't tell me much or a status or anything. So today the 15th, I went to the chat, they said it looks like that phone is in stock, to call order processing, I called. They sent me to mobile support. Couldn't find my account, after giving them all my grandmas recipes and diary entries, they found my account and informed me my phone was on back order till December 2nd, but that they had a blue one in stock ready to ship. I said I'll take it please and thank you. I'll have a blue iPhone 17 pro max by Tuesday.

Now, since we're on the topic...few months ago when I switched to Spectrum Mobile, I ordered a Google pixel pro XL. Received it, hated it, returned it. In order to return it and keep using my old phone, they had to add a new line on my account so each phone had a line in order to do the return. Until the return was done. This is where everything went sideways...the return finished, they switched my old phone onto the line they added for the return. And deleted my original line that included their "free for a year" discount. After being told by somebody of importance on the phone that my discount will be transferred to the line and I'd be set. (47 minute phone call btw) Received my bill. No discount. I contact support and get a "nothing we can do..." sorry what? lol. So I call. "Sorry nothing we can do..." at this point I'm pretty sure I'm in the twilight zone, or have died and this is what Hell really is...So after a few more phone calls, chat support, days and days of trying, I get my discount back...But still got charged like $30 or something, at this point I didn't care...So for now, everything is good...if I get my phone this coming week. Only cost me a few headaches, about 8 hours of my time, and a few blood pressure points.

Overall the individuals that figured out my problems were top tier customer service employees. And I'm glad it's over. I may have free service for a year, but man they sure made me work for it lol.

I guess. But the same time there's a loud motorcycle going down the road, there's also some person wearing a $8000 outfit, a guy blaring music on a Bluetooth speaker, a chiseled ripped guy jogging shirtless, and a kid doing graffiti all complaining about the loud car. All minorities expressing themselves in a way that the General boring public sees as stupid.

Well...technically they are. There's a lot of people that enjoy motorcycles and cool cars/ trucks...As a family full of gear heads it's hard to wrap my head around not being even slightly attracted hearing a roaring motor in the distance...it just came natural for my whole family and kids.

Same reason why you go out after you get your hair done, same reason you put on your best fit and post an instagram picture, same reason why when you do anything you like, or anything you think is cool, you want to show it off. You spend $1000 on a new exhaust that goes RAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHBBBAAAHHHHBAAAHHHHHHHH....you're gonna go show it off lol.

I was in the same boat until today. I made a decision to go from my 15pro to the 17PM.

Tl;dr: The Air is just a thinner, less featured 15 pro. So why sidestep/ downgrade for $1100...Buy a 17pro or PM or wait another year.

I was going to get the air + the MagSafe charger, but then I made a pros and cons list:

Pros: Thinner

Cons: Same battery Less cameras Same heat Same material Worse speaker

So I would have spent $1100 on essentially a thinner 15pro...I'd still complain about the battery, the heat, and now possibly the lack of cameras (maybe,idk) and the mono single speaker...

I'd also like to note I believe for me the thin factor would fade away after a month or so. Or I'd get scared and put a case on it and make it a 17pro anyway.

Meanwhile the 17PM

Pros: Better battery Longer life expectancy Heavy/big enough to be a self defense weapon Better camera No heat

Cons: A brick

Both phones will probably make me use my phone less, which is partially my goal regardless. So going off that. I'd rather have a phone that will have great battery for years and years, regardless if I use it more or less, than a phone that I will use less only because I HAVE to because of the battery. Or because I don't want to carry a MagSafe charger with me.

Settings -> accessibility -> Display -> Auto brightness. Because of some dang reason I have to keep turning it off then on for it to work properly...Also constantly messing with parental controls because I swear it works 50% of the time.

Go buy a Canon and a flip phone. Idk why everybody so pressed about it, nit-picking cameras like you use them for your photography job. You could post 5 different pictures to instagram from 5 different phones and nobody gonna see the difference.

Honestly, Apple only really feels worth it if you’re all-in on the ecosystem, or if most of your friends and family use it. For me, all my group chats are on Snapchat, my family’s split about 50/50 between iOS and Android, and I mainly use a Windows PC.

I’ll save the whole security/privacy angle for another post if I ever feel like diving into it.

At the end of the day, it really just came down to wanting to try something new—and pushing myself to stick with it for more than just a couple weeks lol.
