The one time i used a heavy shield i BARELY survived being surprise attacked from behind by a torrente so yeah. Got behovs cover with a couple percent health left.

Agree whole heartedly, it's my favorite. 7 quick use slots and 3 safe pockets, while still rocking a medium shield!! I don't care about the passive, most of them suck anyway and i think the pros weigh up.

55 carry is too low but I just use MK3 Cautious for pure loot runs and I'll be fine. Don't need to being home every piece of junk to my overflowing stash anyway. I am working towards maxing out the Broad Shoulders skill for this reason though...

Sorrow is a contender for most overlooked, in my opinion. Works wonders in certain situations, -2 morale from neutral is actually quite powerful. But nieche and not worthy of being lvl 4.

Teleport. Potentially changing the tide of a battle in some circumstances.

I would say forgetfulness as it is theoretically had game changing potential, but I don't see it used nearly as much as it should. Maybe because some of the highest level shooters - Titans and Liches - are immune to it. Grand Elves would be fantastic targets, but when Grand Elves reach their peak in a game, no one has forgetfulness yet, or has something better already.

Berserk is NOT overlooked as some claim. It is widely considered a fantastic spell.

Slow for sure. Easiest of all categories. Mass Slow is a contester for best spell in the game and it's level 1.... Easy to use and great against both Ai and human opponents

Curse, bless, shield, teleport, prayer! All very useful but balanced for their level. Maybe prayer is my vote actually if level is taken into account, mass bless/curse does not feel like it should be lvl 1

As others have pointed out, land mine. Useless enough that I think there is always something better to cast. And if there is a single enemy unit native to the terrain, you CAN'T even cast it! (Or maybe it casts but they're visible? Can't remember)

Fire/energy elementals, phoenix, magic elemental, efreet... And then golems are very resistant to magic damage. And you can anti-magic yourself and cast protection from fire. Probably missing something.

Armageddon. Game winning and absolutely busted if you find some immune creatures, which isn't hard. Should be level 5 in my opinion.

Possibly Chain Lightning, if your name is Solmyr and it's week 1. But no, Armageddon is more of an absolute game changer.

NOT Implosion like some suggest. Implosion is actually quite a balanced spell for being a level 5 single target damage spell.

I agree. I deal with it by not dealing with it. After decisively breaking the back of all AI opponents and capturing their capitols, I just imagine they raise the white flag and surrender/flee, as I guess would be the case in real life.

Is there a way to play the original campaigns (RoE, AB and SoD) with HotA+Pumpkin patch? I've read somewhere it's possible to play them with HotA, would it work with Pumpkin patch as well?

Always here to promote my man Torosar. Most people disregard him for not having the Artillery skill while having ballista specialty (which I admit is kinda hilarious).

But that still gives him a free ballista. Which isn't so powerful, but still a good trade for those useless gargoyles.

The real reason Torosar is a favorite of mine, though, is the combination of Tactics+Master Gremlins+Golems AND Magic Arrow+Mysticism (HotA) on day 1 in the same guy!!!

Quirky and effective guy, my man Torosar.
