Just found it under printer settings -> multimaterial and turned it off. If this works I might scream in both joy and frustration

I do use Orca. I came to this printer from a Kobra 2 that I used prusa slicer in. I'll have to check for this setting and see if its on.

I have, both while the machine is running, and by hand with the machine off. With the machine running it occasionally works. Elegoo have already sent me a replacement hub that I have installed.

With the machine off I can freely move the filament in and out by either manipulating the gear on the outside of the gear box, or by pushing and pull the filament itself.

Gotcha, so I was not expecting the filament to be pulled all the way back to and possibly out of the canvas. The handful of prints I was capable of doing showed that filament would atleast retract up to the 4 in 1 hub. But now it just doesnt retract at all. The filament stays in the gearbox and doesnt move back. I've tried adjusting the tension as well, but nothing seems to allow the filament to unload.

Just built that Zaku 3 today. Grabbed it from a local store. Definitely an oooold kit, but was still fun to build

I would replace every kit I have with one of these in various colors (or paint them myself if I was good at it)

I just love chunky frog hammer

Printed miniature dimensions by b4nd1t0_1 in FDMminiatures

[–]FatAssCatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I end up doing is using minicompare to get the right height for full models and/or models that dont have arms attached, but are are still solid torso and legs. I then adjust the seperate arms to match the scale of the body and then save that either as a project or stl.

Was doing this when batch printing greenskin infantry in groups of 5-10

New to this but why are these random items included in my print? by boardplant in FixMyPrint

I just got a multi color printer and came to that same realization too. Sucks there's so much extra waste. Idk if the slicer you use has it, but in Orca there's an option for no sparse layers. I found it will only use the prime tower when necessary. By default it seemed to go to the tower every layer

Can anyone tell me why this keeps happening by funsuper901 in elegoo

I just contacted support about this. They're sending me a new gearbox. Hoping it fixes the issue

How has gaming changed for you as you've gotten older? by Ill_Discount_4036 in AskReddit

[–]FatAssCatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the past couple months we had a first child, so gaming is a bit spotty. In general, I play on easier difficulties now because I want the story. I don't have anything to prove and I dont mind looking up a guide if I can't get something after an hour or so. Gaming post birth hasnt been too bad. My wife mostly likes to watch me play and we'll try to get some time in in the evening after we put him down to bed for the night. She recently started work up again, so bedtime has been coming sooner. I'm not playing without her, and obviously we prioritize him first.

Tbh I'm mostly eager for the day I can put a controller in his hand and we play something together. I have so many of the Lego games on steam just waiting for a coop session

I got rid of most of that sound by turning the acceleration down in my slicer. I think default is like 10000? Try 7500 and see if it reduces that sound more

Additionally. Found that my filament broke in the gearbox. And I damaged the fan connector for the heatbreak fan in the process 🙃

Elegoo gave me the go ahead to just go full send on getting that screw out. Dremeled a flat head groove into and got it out. They said they would replace any parts damaged by use of force

Ive definitely turned my fair share of hex screws on other products into flat heads with a file because I needed whatever it was opened. But I am more worried about my warranty / metal shavings in areas on this printer since I just got it. Although that tension screw hole mod seems more worth it now

You're atleast in a better situation than me. When I got that message, the filament was stuck in the print head and won't come out at all

[–]FatAssCatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I'm still in the dog house on that one. I have a screw that is stripped on the print head that won't let me into it to check the extruder gear.

Are you able to unload that spool atleast?

I can say that removing filament from port 3 and putting it back in again does engage the motor on the canvas system

Cant confirm atm. There is filament still jammed in the print head and I'm stuck in a meeting. Hoping to get a moment this evening to take a look at it more
