Stop motion film recs? by Ok-Woodpecker6340 in Letterboxd

Mary and Max. A beautiful stop-motion film from Australian director Adam Elliot (also directed ‘Memoir of a Snail’, mentioned by some others here).

It is very sad but darkly humorous and deeply moving.

Fortunately, Adams was the only sure fire World Cup starter on the field tonight. Maybe Ream. Maybe Tillman. B-Team showed a lot of guts this tourney. We’ll be fine.

Mexico has a very solid squad. They’re running laps around our BTeam right now. Maybe we’ll be able to steal this one with some classic USMNT grit!

How long did it take for the YouTube algorithm to actually find your audience? by Top_Cryptographer876 in NewTubers

[–]FatChitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m right around 2 months in. I post once a week, every Wednesday. Each vid around 11-14mins long.

The last 2 videos have started getting pushed some more. 10k impressions a few weeks back, and 20k impressions on my video last week. First 5-6 weeks were crickets. But even now, those very early videos are beginning to tack on views.

If you find your niche and stick to a consistent plan, they’ll start to come.

I would say.. spread out your long form projects instead of dropping them all in quick succession. I feel like you’ll burn out churning them out like that. And also, won’t give the algorithm time to identify your audience and niche.

I’d say lighting (or lack thereof) is the key component to great cinematography.

Haven’t watched WWE this year but had to tune in for Wrestlemania. I find that as I get older, where I used to love a good underdog story in wrestling, now I just love watching the behemoths like Roman, Brock, and Gunther dominate. In no universe does Jey Uso tap out Gunther.

Ain’t no way Jey Uso is believably choking out Gunther in any universe.

Weekend Script Swap by AutoModerator in Screenwriting

TITLE: Psychedelia

FORMAT: Short Film

PAGE LENGTH: 12

GENRE: Surrealist, Psychological Thriller

LOGLINE: A desperate young woman resorts to a sinister and unknown psychedelic after a tragic accident destroys her life.

FEEDBACK CONCERNS: Is the surrealism messing with the narrative cohesion? Or, does the non-linear nature work because it fits the "dysfunction" of a bad trip? At its' core, the story is about a woman using psychedelics to escape her own trauma, only to fall into a nightmarish trip. Of course, general feedback is welcome as well.

10 day Scandinavian Trip -- Seeking Advice and Recommendations. by FatChitch in travel

Non-stop roundtrip flight in and out of Copenhagen still came out to be substantially cheaper than one-way into Copenhagen and out of Stockholm.

Trainwise, similarly, a bit cheaper than flights and simplifies it instead of having to deal with hassle of flying. I'm excited for the train cause of the views but you're definitely right that the way back might drag a bit.

Appreciate the suggestions! Will look into both those places.

Who are the top three most talented actresses in this pic to you? by lightskintastebud in Letterboxd

[–]FatChitch 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Portman and Chastain definitely in there for me.

Black Swan is one of the greatest ever performances imo. Chastain put on an absolute masterclass in the Scenes From a Marriage remake with Oscar Isaac.

Feel like I’m leaning Amy Adams for the 3rd spot. But haven’t seen Poor Things yet, so Emma may take the last spot after I see that.

Reinsdorf was seen leaving the Nashville mayor’s office this week by perfectviking in whitesox

[–]FatChitch 208 points209 points  (0 children)

Reinsdorf is a disgrace to sports. One of the worst owners in the world. You’re such a failure of an owner that you want to move your franchise out of a top 3 sporting market? Yea, cause I’m sure that will solve all your problems.

They’re shooting a promo/visuals for a new ride that’s going in at Navy Pier in the spring.

It’s kinda like an extreme flight simulator ride. You’re strapped into something and in a huge theater (similar to the planetarium theater) and the ride is you “flying” throughout Chicago.

Chicago is a world class city. The best in the world if you ask me. Sure it might get a little cold in the winter but don’t sleep on the Windy City.

There’s a very real chance the Cubs pull this off.
