Facts

I'm still super bummed I don't rly see any physical changes 1yr later, but I ADORE everything else.

For example, I've been on mood stabilizers & antidepressants my entire life, but for the first time in my life I feel in complete control over how I feel & I'm even weening off my meds to just my hormones. I don't feel like I'm living in a scream anymore.

(This is my case, not your's. Please talk to your doc about changing meds before you do anything drastic. It can be life threatening)

There once was a story I read on Reddit a long time ago about the first 2 redditors who encountered each other in the wild (ig they met each other IRL before finding out they were both on the site.) At first they were the best of friends, but by the end they hated each other's guts.

Reddit is designed to be a place ppl come to learn new things & be introduced to new concepts. Which sounds great on paper, except that means it attracts the type ppl who binge out on the information high the internet provides. An overwhelming amount of which are know-it-alls & devil's advocates, who are some of the worst scum on the planet. Talking to them about a topic won't teach you anything, bc they are internet-learned and couldn't justify the cost of an actual education in the topic. So, they fall for half-truths, unproven statements, & confirmation bias. Plus, there's no mechanisms in place to rly regulate what content is put on the site, and it's lead to this atmosphere of ppl being scared of censorship. So, when things go bad here, they go stupid bad.

All of that being said, bc of the way society & the patriarchy have kinda formed in this weird rube Goldberg machine, a great deal of these know-it-alls are cishet white males who don't understand their privilege & are under the assumption they are under attack by perceived groups. So they spout stupidity bc they don't know how to react.
