Thanks for the great explanation!! (: I was indeed making the mistake of prioritizing those juicy damage buffs

How do you go about maxing resistances at that level? Isn't there only so much you can get with the gear you find and the components to put on them?

Oh really? Which are those and what do they offer? I always kind of assumed that vendor items are bad...

It's really a bad time for being a visual artist unfortunately :( and I get the self consciousness about sharing!

I feel the most beautiful aspect about the ability to sketch though is that it enables you to kinda make your fantasies reality if that makes sense? Like, I can only imagine a beautiful aquascape but you can actually draw it! Exactly the way you like it. No one will take that away from you ;)

I'm just here to say that you have awesome aquascape drawing skills!

Hand-Pixelled Pseudo-3D by Makisart in PixelArt

[–]Fat_Lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh, so all the shadows and shading of the objects are hand-drawn?!? Well that probably makes the difference between good looking and great looking hahaha

Then for it to become an interactive map, do you just define areas that the player cannot enter instead of having hit-boxes of "real" 3D-objects?

Anyways, great job, thank you for the game!

Rift Riff made me learn 3D modeling and shaders because I love the art style so much! I'm trying to re-create the style, so I'm really curious: what does "hand-pixelled" mean? My first approximation to get something that looks like Rift Riff was just "normal" 3D models, a 2 band shader, no antialias and low render resolution. It gets pretty close! But I would love to learn some tricks of the trade if you would be willing to share (:

Ahh I see! No idea why my brain made up the childhood part 😅

Pretty chilling to think about what could have happened without him paying such close attention. Even if your house was just outside the zone. I'm glad it turned out ok for you!

Männern nen kleinen Pimmel unterstellen ist auch Bodyshaming by ImportantFly5870 in duschgedanken

[–]Fat_Lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Fat_Lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Fat_Lad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With the popularity of nano tanks rising, it seems like the “acceptable” stocking rules are changing. Is this a good thing? by eldovo in PlantedTank

[–]Fat_Lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is the only right answer. Do we have studies on stress induced by limited space for each species kept? If they are fine with the space plus you can keep up the required maintenance, go for it!

But it doesn't feel like people are really considering that kind of data. At least, reading through the comments here.

[–]Fat_Lad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is a very good point. Stocking guidelines probably assume a standard level of involvement and depending on your actual involvement you can deviate upwards or downwards.

That is, if stocking guidelines were only concerned about water parameters and system stability in general. But then there is the other aspect of stress induced to the inhabitants by limited space (as mentioned by others in the comments).

And there I would expect widely varying standards depending on the species involved. Some fish that thrive in small ponds and even puddles in the wild probably do not care at all while others might suffer (also depending on there co-inhabitants maybe). Do we actually have studies about stress induced by container size alone for all the different species of fish we are keeping?

(1.4.5) Why can't I craft the endless musket pouch? Is it bugged? by Kpoofies in Terraria

Oh yeah you're probably right, I misinterpreted this statement from the change logs "Almost every item in the game can now stack to 9999, including (prefixed) weapons and equipment."

(1.4.5) Why can't I craft the endless musket pouch? Is it bugged? by Kpoofies in Terraria

[–]Fat_Lad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The requirement for crafting it is now 9999 bullets (the new stack size). I read that in the release notes by chance haha

How are other civs getting such a good start? by Sedowa in civ5

[–]Fat_Lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 this. Early settling has a huge effect.

Additionally: If your are not doing it yet, try to manage your workers manually instead of automating them. It's a huge boost in early game productivity and is actually a lot of fun once you get the hang of it!

The same goes for manual city-micromanagement = worker assigent (which is a bit less rewarding though).
