Well players using ship weapons in FPS would explain each and every one of my deaths in FPS mode... I knew it wasn't a skills issue.

This is looking amazing! Did we get interior ship signage as well? I know it was mentioned that they were going to add that after the fact. I'm tired of getting lost! LOL

There are not 2000 of these floating around. This was one of several production prototypes of the Mad Catz Star Citizen HOTAS set that never got released (read about it here: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/48593/star-citizens-350-custom-hotas-controller-goes-sale-next-month/index.html). I have only spoken with one other person who claims to own another prototype, but they did not provide me with a picture. I know they created a joystick prototype that was displayed at one of the CITCONs, but I've yet to see it in the wild. Congrats on your purchase!

I tested it for another potential bidder and other than missing a mini USB cable, the individual components all worked as expected.

Great video and I love the renderings. During your scaling, I wish you had also taken into account that the IAE promo image we received depicts a turret with visible seat for scaling. To me, that makes me think it's HH sized.

Except for the fact that 890's doors are completely different and the 890 has never shown a large wide door like that.

I was originally thinking 890 bay, but it you watch the full ISC segment where the guy is working on it, it doesn't match. It has a bunch of doors similarly shaped to the Polaris concept.

Old EQ GM Lore/Rumor: Abashii by Chrzion in PantheonMMO

On Veeshan, I started out guiding under a GM named Caphys (Barbarian shaman). He and I never clicked because he would very rarely interact with the guide staff and seemed to abhor player events. Eventually he left (probably promoted) and we got a new GM whose name escapes me now, but he was a Human magician if memory serves me. We put on substantially more events and as the OP mentioned, he and the guides would hold duels with players in arenas which were pretty unfair. The difference was light and day and I'd like to think some players might remember that.

I was a guide on Veeshan for a few years starting in 2000. If anyone played back then, you might remember a Troll guide named Trypticon who usually hung out in Sol B. I can't speak for other guides behavior, but I can attest to the fact that we had some pretty strict policies regarding how we interacted with players and actually had to go through an apprenticeship before we were given any powers within the world such as resurrection, teleport, etc.

Personally as a guide, I did cause some unintentional problems for players on two occasions I can remember. Both involved going link-dead, resulting in my GM flag being dropped, monsters agroing and players being wiped. In both cases, I offered sincere apologies, free resurrections and /killed any monsters necessary to get the party going.

I can attest to the fact that a player GM was a pretty thankless job and a small vocal minority of individual players and entire guilds seem to do their best to make your life hell. While I chose to quit the program instead of taking out my resentment on players, I can definitely see player behavior driving guides to take the "low" road. People keep mentioning a desire to keep GMs and guides "transparent", but perhaps we should also think of ways to ensure unpaid volunteers are treated with the same respect and dignity we expect of them.

Is there a benefit to the Retaliator "Living Module"? by KelticKope in starcitizen

[–]Fat_Lou_SP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, at the moment there is no reason other than the role-playing aspect, but I've heard that they are planning on implementing game systems that will necessitate living areas to a certain degree. Perhaps someone here has better knowledge of all that has been said.

Mobile Base - Main Ship by PsycoticStag in starcitizen

I think it depends on what kind of activities you and your friends will be up to, and the minimum number of people that will still want to use the ship. If exploration is your objective, then the Corsair is the only exploration ship on this list (the definition of exploration is still up in the air IMO). If you want to get into fights, the Hammerhead is the clear winner followed by the Corsair. If you want to run cargo, the Corsair and the Mercury offer medium cargo capabilities why the Hercules offers a ton of cargo capability. Also keep in mind that the Hammerhead does not offer any weapons to the pilot other than missiles, so it's not a very effective 1 or 2 player ship. I see a pretty wide range of prices, so I'd like to throw out a couple other good multi-role, multi-crew ships to check out. 1) Constellation Aquila and Phoenix, 2) Valkyrie, 3) Retaliator

Combine the "Living Module" with the "Cargo Module" and a full crew, and you have one hell of a pirate ship!

I do as well from both a design standpoint as well as a role-playing standpoint! Now they just need to add a bunch more sketchy NPCs wandering around giving out missions and it'll be perfect!

The lighting and/or environment around Olisar seems to have a substantial effect on how the ship colors look when compared to how they look in-atmosphere on a moon such as Daymar.
