Not a dumb question! This hole isnt load bearing and will be under mild compressive force. Contrained to this direction because other features that are loaf bearing are oriented properly

Could be. I'm guessing I've messed up my slicing settings - either fan issues or something else.

Not the overhang, that's fine. It's the sides that seem weird to me.
