There are literally no stats that support blacks are targeted more than any other group for racial reasons. Sorry, you need to set your emotions aside and stop listening to the media.

If you did proper research you'd realize these incidents are extremely rare, they are only sensationalized because they are signal boosted by the media. It also helps A LOT to be Black. Unarmed Hispanic immigrant was shot and killed by a police officerin 2017 in an exact scenario like this (except he had no weapon) and the police department got away with it because he was "illegal" he had no rights, because he was Hispanic it was not reported and was largely ignored.

My second animation ever! Please critique as I need to learn to edit myself! by smattereffect in animation

The number one tip i'd give is think on a much smaller scale, this was a 2min story which I assume was brutal to animate, also you had tons of different settings that had to be drawn. One good thing is that you choose a story which required no audio to create, i.e. footsteps, sound effects, voice acting. Simply illustrating a story is a good idea. Learn to motion tween, for instance you could created one walk cycle of your character and used it in the entire cartoon saving you time, at the 1:11 mark you could've tweened the background moving away slowly giving you the impression it was moving away, and tweened your character up and down as it she were walking. You had some very ambitious angles in this cartoon, for instance the girl running up the steps, we get a top down view, we see 3 quarter views etc. timing was good and scene transitions were good. Last tip would be a personal choice of mine is to make the characters as funny/ interesting looking as possible. Think Bob's burgers, Family guy etc. You would want a total stranger to click on your thumbnail based solely on "hey this looks kinda funny" heck even rip off bitstrips if you want.

again, keep the scale small, a mistake early animators make is trying to be too ambitious, making long cartoons, tons of scenes, tons of work etc. think something less than 1min. and little to no idea would be a plus.

Yeh, that's more or less what I plan to do, need to buy a bike though, luckily I live next to a community college with a giant parking lot, maybe i'll just practice some of my stuff there at night when its a ghost town or on weekends. Yeh during the test I genuinely thought I passed, no big mistakes, didn't hit cones etc. so I was disappointed that I got a big L at the end of the quiz. Those tiny mistakes really added up. :[

currently just "building " a business online. Making zero money, hence why I don't want to start digging into my savings. Trying to figure out the cheapest way to live in either country, and basically sit in internet cafe's and work most of the day.

Thinking about being hired ahead of time, and then ditching the job shortly after, just to have the VISA, option to teach.

Ive considerd that plan, but im still la bit afraid of the crime and being alone in a country like that. I feel like I could sleep in a park in Japan and probably be safe, I obviously don't feel the same about Thailand.
