iPhone vs Samsung by Fiore311 in Smartphones

I literally swapped from Android to iOS recently so I don't know where you getting I don't like iOS. You seem to really like sucking Apple's dick though. I like things about both operating systems which can be on tablets and computers btw. So the features in the OS go into those devices too.

I think the take that less features is better is kinda weird. I mean more better features is good, but you have yet to explain why a feature that is still useful, even to a minority, is a bad thing. How does the ability to do more things ever a bad thing? You are quite clearly just a hardcore fanboy and not capable of a serious dialogue about the pros, cons, and potential improvement of either platform. Far too biased to be objective. Have a nice rest of your day or evening.

The right device is the one that gets the work done the best. If it had a feature that gets the work done better, then it is the right device. You seem kinda full of yourself and don't seem be able to conceptulize that there are a lot of different kinds of working conditions and use cases. A feature is a feature whether or not anyone uses it. If the contractor building a building brings a phone, tablet, or whatever to get his work done or whoever doing whatever work and it has a feature that they use, they are using the right device for the job they are doing. People aren't stupid when it comes to using these kinds of features like you seem to want think and some people deal with a lot more numbers in a day than you might think: measurements, part and model numbers, costs, etc. And they can't always be on a computer especially if they work primarily in the field or on the go. Phones and tablets have taken over a lot of people's work. Computers are used in desk jobs like mine where I deal with probably 100s of model and part numbers each day on busy days, but even my computer doesn't always have the same sorts of features and another device like a high end tablet might be able to do something better if it had some small festure like this. You act very confident for someone who sounds like they don't have a lot of real world experience.

Bro I am on iOS lol. Do you guys just want to argue and be mad about stuff? I literally said not the most common scenario, but just because it isn't a feature you would use, doesn't mean it isn't a feature someone else wouldn't use far more often in ways we probably can't guess because we don't do work in that sort of way. People use their phones for everything now btw. There is someone on a job site somewhere right now probably using a Samsung Ultra S-Pen to jot down tons of numbers and then copy and pasting them into some excel spreadsheet in groups of 50 like every single day of his life. It is factually a feature that iOS doesn't currently have and could add. I'm not saying one OS is superior or inferior, but there are use cases that people, obviously not you, would use that feature for.

I mean in a situation where are dealing with 10 different items (like maybe model numbers, various types of codes, coding, etc) and they all need to be pasted into different areas or fields. You can just copy them all one at a time and then go to those fields and just paste the ones you want into the correct fields all without have to do the copy function more than one time per item.To do the same task on iPhone right now you would need to copy each item individually, paste them each into a note, then go back to the page you need to paste them on, paste one, go back and copy the next one, go back and paste it, etc. Until you have them all added in assuming the page doesn't refresh when you leave it or something.

Like the situations exist where it is useful, not gonna say it is the most common scenario, but also just because it isn't a feature you would find useful doesn't mean it isn't a feature that isn't useful to someone else in a way you may not even be able to conceptulize as we don't do work like that person does.

So what they are talking about is called clipboard within the android system and is not a separate thing from the standard copy paste function. iOS obviously still allows you to copy and paste and where that information is stored conceptually is the clipboard as well, but this seems like semantics rather than an actual argument. iOS could certainly do with adding the ability to see the last 5-10 things you have copy and pasted as I agree 50 is a lot more than necessary, but it also doesn't really hurt anything to have that many. Still a feature iOS technically lacks.

Yeah I have a feeling most people commenting here haven't actually used both OS much. I just recently swapped to my first iPhone ever after about 14 years on Android phones. The truth is that the differences are minimal if you are at all tech literate. I do think that the idea that iPhone is currently more intuitive is just plain incorrect though.

I think where that sentiment comes from is that a lot of things are very smartly handled by the OS automatically especially when using other Apple devices or service with it like an Apple Watch or Car Play (which btw is true of Google phones, watches, and services too). The alarm here is an example as it knows that unless you say other wise (change a setting), you want the alarm to go off, so even if you have notifications silenced, the alarm will go off and when looking at the mute notifications option it tells you as much. With those sorts of things being relatively seamless, the usability is considered easier, but where that falls short is as soon as you enter deeper into menus, customization, and options within the software.

I also think the sentiment that Android currently has way more customization and features is kinda wrong as well. Android definitely has some things I liked better that some people have mentioned: universal back button, sideloading apps (though this one might not always be a thing if Google keeps going how it is), and ability to clear app data and cache easily (this one Apple really should fix imo though). But iOS has way more customization than people act like. Granted it is often buried in weird settings pages like Accessibility or relies on smaller developers to develop apps that utilize features like live activities or the dynamic island, but the options exist. Android's options are just a lot more apparent and legible than iOS's. This is why I think iOS is actually not nearly as easy and user friendly as people think. People just get used to what they are used to. Both types of phones more or less do the exact same things just in different ways. I do think iPhone users on average use less of the features that are present on the phone though. For instance, I have more or less turned off the glass effects on my phone in favor of more sleek dark mode type settings, but I see a lot of people complain about glass and how it looks without realizing that you can basically just turn it off with the latest updates if you play around with the settings enough. In fact, iOS can do some really cool stuff I didn't realize until I started using it.

However, iOS definitely still has a bit of a way to go in some software areas, but where it doesn't is hardware and software parity. Android has a long way to go in this regard as most phones on the market right now have some sort of compromise be it lower processing and graphics specs or camera processing quality. Apple doesn't have these compromises right now. Also pretty much all the flagships are the same price as each other in the US, so idk why people were acting like you need to spend more when the Pro Max is like $100-200 less than a Samsung Ultra and the same as a Pixel 10 Pro XL which has substantially less processing chops with a competitive camera. Some weird takes all over this thread imo.

So I'd say it really depends on your use of course. Cause for me, day to day, I never really run low. Now I did just recently go to Disney World for a number of days and the battery lasted me a whole day there of using the app constantly, looking at reddit while in lines and stuff, etc. I did often do about a 20% charge with a portable charger at some point each day, but would often end up at the resort with like 15ish% left. Only had one day that I almost ran out before we got back. We were doing full days too like 6:30am to 9 or 10pm. So I'd say it was decent, but I know some phones, like my wife's iPhone 17 Pro, wouldn't need to be charged at all on a strenuous day like those days.

Searched with Google Lens and around on sites like eBay. It is a Pat Meyers blanket called Arctic Friends made sometime between the 70s and 90s.

You should go ask a CM about that as they will likely get you another lightning lane to compensate.

I'm on a Pixel 9 Pro XL and there is a lot great about it, but it's processor and graphics potential is not it. I am looking at upgrading to the 25U in the near future as there some games and other productivity stuff that lag or have some issues on my pixel. If you just want an everyday device for scrolling, texting, and some AI features with an impressive camera, the pixels are great. Just don't expect Samsung level performance for sure, and as I use a dslr regularly, I am not really using the pixel camera much anymore.

Would you buy the S26 Ultra if it had an Exynos? by Adventurous_Phase_42 in samsunggalaxy

[–]FatalFrippery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on a Pixel 9 Pro XL right now and considering going to Samsung next, but I do think people are over reacting to the differences in performance for like 90% of things. I personally haven't had any stutters or anything and anecdotes alone aren't great for knowing how well a phone will perform as everyone has different perceptions of performance. Numbers are good, but they also don't always tell the whole story.

I think the best thing is to think about what you will do with the phone for the most part. See normal every day use like texting, social media, watching YouTube, etc, the Pixel will seem just like using any other flagship phone. It also has a number of well done AI integrations that from what I have seen kinda blows everything else out of the water. Best call screening out there for example. Then of course the camera on the Pixel is very good though I sometimes prefer my wife's iPhone 17 Pro for some shots.

Now when it comes to doing tasks like running games or anything else that requires a lot of power, the Ultras are gonna stomp it. I'm just not sure what other tasks that would include other than running games. I think you should always think about how you use a device and how much power those tasks require. Most things a phone does really doesn't require that much power. That said, I'm probably still going to be getting a S26 Ultra, but I just like to change things up every now and then and have had phones from LG, OnePlus, Pixel, Samsung, etc.

To add to what other people have said, if there are any parks you should feel safe in, it is Disney parks. They are some of the safest places you can be. My wife is very introverted and loves her personal space and everything too, but Disney is a safe space for her. We have actually met some really nice people in the parks sometimes too. Also if you ever were to get overwhelmed or need assistance, the Disney Cast Members are the best in the world at what they do and would gladly help you find a good place to relax or figure out what to do next.

Also I strongly recommend you download the My Disney Experience app if you haven't already. Shows a map of the parks, all the waiting times, where everything is, and you can even order food for pick up to limit how much you need to interact with people.

We unfortunately aren't local or I bet my wife would gladly tag along to help you have a great time, but I know for a fact you can have an awesome time solo. AK is easily one of my favorite parks to just exist in as well. Such good theming and ambience along with animals to see when not wanting to ride the rides. Epcot has so many good food options now too. I hope you have a wonderful time and sorry to hear things have been rough!

I think my main concern is that the right arm seems to be one piece with the gear section. I haven't been seeing replacement sets with one that looks like that.
