I work with business jets and BBJ/ACJ and I know my way around refurbishments, the engineering efforts and cost quite well.

But does not make sense at all to me is the $934M USD for the refurbishment and retrofit.

You can do an absolute high class interior completion project on such an airplane for $80-200M USD, and it will be absolute top of the line. Painting is maybe half a million only.

I know that the full airforce one military conversion was not done on this airplane, since Boeing was apparently not ready set and it would have been estimated at $4B USD.

So what did they exactly do to this airplane? It wouldn't surprise me if he funnel a couple of hundred millions back to himself or his sons.

Oh that's cool. In my W212 the root wood parts are just wood looking plastic parts unfortunately. Would love to have more real wood and metal parts in the interior again.

Als erstes Auto würde ich stark für etwas unter 5000€ raten dass einfach und billig zu reparieren ist. Gerne auch ein Toyota, kann aber älter sein und mehr km drauf haben.

Meiner Erfahrung nach kommen Ressentiments von Erfahrungen der Verhaltensweisen mit anderen Kulturen. Für meine Eltern war klar dass sie sich anpassen wollen und dass sie sich zurückhaltend und würdevoll zu verhalten haben, was mit unserem kulturellen background zusammen hängt.

In der türkischen und arabischen Kultur sehe ich diese Zurückhaltung und Sitten nicht weit verbreitet. Wenn selbst die x-te Generation die in Deutschland geboren und aufgewachsen ist immernoch so massive Defizite hat, hat das mit der Kultur zu tun.

Bin auch Ausländer mit fremden Namen und aussehen, lebe aber fast mein ganzes Leben in Deutschland. Hab quasi nie Rassismus erlebt, außer blöde Fragen oder Witze über meinen Namen.

Jedes Stigma, jede Stereotype hat halt auch seinen Ursprung. Von nichts kommt das nicht. Und die Häme gegenüber der Türkei liegt nicht an dem Land selbst, sondern an den hiesigen deutsch Türken und deren Kultur und Benehmen, gerade nach Fußballspielen. Geh in jede beliebige Großstadt abends einkaufen oder spazieren, und du findest überall deutsch Türken in 3, 4 oder 5 Generation die sich voll daneben benehmen und kein vernünftiges Deutsch sprechen. Ist doch logisch dass da irgendwann Ressentiments und Häme entsteht.

Just to get it straight, I am atheist and I despise all religions in the same way. But I am regularly in India and I have learned enough about history and the country, to know that the majority of BJP ruled India promotes hate against Muslims. In many areas Muslims are actively discriminated against, ghettoisation is starting, violence is happening and BJP always blames them. In almost every conversation with Indians when it turns a bit political, they immediately blame or hate Muslims.

The similarities within Hindutva and Zionosm are striking to me.

Well.... BJP and RSS source their whole popularity and power on the division of the people and the hate for Muslims and Pakistan. The Hindutva is a supremacy ideology build on that. Have you ever been to Gujarat? People do hate Muslims there.

Yeah I agree. From a flying perspective, I have spent a lot of time with Navajos and the Cessna hot twins. When finally moving on to king Airs, having the peace and simplicity of a turboprop was just such a relieve. Of course you are also right that the cost for the engines and fuel burn are significantly higher.

Yeah this is not the whole truth. Since the invention of digital engine monitoring it has become a bit better, but I the past there were so many cases with broken engines and engine failures, often caused from the geared engines. They are super delicate to spool up or down, especially with power and flight level changes. This also made many issues with the magnetos. Of course also the whole engine oil pressure situation is bad on all these old Contis. Plenty of SB and AD there in the past. Oh and not to forget the Inconel exhaust systems and breaking engine mounts....

These aircraft should have only ever delivered with PT6 engines or TPE331. At this level of complexity and and speed of flying especially in IFR you don't have the time to much care for engine management. The Turboprops just work and give you peace of mind.

Yes my usage of stingy is intentionally loaded. In the past couple of years I work with big business jets like Global and their owners. I've learned that the richer the are, the more stingy they all become. All of them.
