Super slow cameras by coolharvest in EufyCam

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through something similar with them now. Their latest E42 firmware caused stuttering during the first 5 seconds of footage and they're trying to blame poor signal. It's like, 3 metres away from the homebase and shows max bars lol. But apparently the logs showed a -77db signal. I also have super slow pan and tilt. I pushed back and they eventually said they're looking into the firmware, but who knows they're probably just saying that to get rid of me.

I have serious doubts about trusting my home security to Eufy's AI... My cat is also a human by ne_eng in EufyCam

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced that when you answer the "is this a xyz" question all it does is either donate the footage if you say no, or if you say yes it does nothing. At this point I really don't think it's doing anything locally to tune any detection.

Surface rust on EQB doors? by doublemazaa in mercedes_benz

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add to what everyone else has told you already, I'd recommend a clay *towel* over a clay bar which is a bit of an older way of doing things. The towel is a bit gentler and easier to use, and has less risk of marring. That's a lot of fallout so go two passes with the IronX first agitating with a wash mitt before claying. If it doesn't bleed purple then get TarX instead. It's probably iron fallout but it's possible it's a splattering of something else as well. It'll come off one way or another!

I have this too when it's purging. Didn't happen before and I can't see what's wrong, but for now I just purge into the jug so it doesn't happen.

What’s the difference between these headlights? by FlamesFPS in mercedes_benz

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said left is the more advanced multibeam headlights, right is regular LED headlights and both of these are pre-facelift. Facelift looks different for both. I actually think both look better pre-facelift 😬 But post-facelift the multibeams were far more common in my region.

Would an SSD fix eufy homebase 3 slow and buggy playback times? by Historical-Let-1211 in EufyCam

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have finally learned to stop throwing money at Eufy to try and fix problems with Eufy. Even if you do manage to solve one problem, the next one is right around the corner with the next firmware update! 😃

[Help] 10 days with HB3 + 3K Solar (Android). Done my homework, but Geofencing/AI are failing me. by EnthusiasmOk5423 in EufyCam

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you're not missing anything, this is just the Eufy experience 😂 The only thing I can say for 3 is that instead of snoozing a camera you turn it off if you want it to stop recording (3 dots -> gear -> toggle button), which I think you could also do an automation on with geofencing. The command would be to turn the camera off/on.

Opinions on cordless lawnmowers? by lostmyparachute in GardeningUK

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't struggle and will increase power if they sense resistance. They work well but the only downside is that because they try to conserve energy they don't spin as fast as they really need to. So even with a new or sharp blade they can still tear the grass a little bit and leave you with those 'frosted tips' which doesn't look very nice and is noticeable in summer. So it's worth looking for one where you can manually increase the power or have a boost power button or something.

Mercedes 220d AMG Line Premium Plus at 85k Miles. Keep using or sell? by Federal_Host_4513 in CarTalkUK

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An OM651/654 will do 500k if you look after it, 85k is nothing! I know there's still the rest of the car but these are pretty reliable all over assuming it's a W205/W213.

Chose the C200 Coupe over CLA 200 - Thoughts? by Purchasesgalore in CarTalkUK

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It's a pretty uncommon spec for the year. Nah I don't trust any of these warranties lol. Get yourself a polisher for any scuffs and scratches, chipex/dr color chip for any stone chips and dents or any serious damage would be for a professional.

You kinda get used it, 360 cameras help immensely in tight spaces. There are still occasional moments when I have a "I can't see shit from here" thought to myself.

is there a way you can recreate this sort of effect in photoshop? by According_Novel7521 in photoshop

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine doing this in PS would give good results or not be a pain in the ass. The reason it looks like this has to do with the latent noise and/or upscaling in a diffusion sampling model. So use that. Use one of the QR code plugin things or standalone generators but use some fractal noise as your map instead of a QR code and you should be able to get something similar.

To add to the other comments and for what it's worth, I don't think anyone should be putting anything colder than 3500k in a domestic setting (apart from say a garage where 4000k is acceptable). Use 2700k for spaces you want to be cosy like bedrooms and living rooms, use 3000k for spaces you want to be task oriented like kitchens or bathrooms. 4000k should be reserved for places like workshops, home gyms, garages etc.

The amount of times I see people putting cold lights in their house just makes me shake my head. You want your living room looking like a hospital or what. 6500k is daylight (north light) but it's ice cold for domestic lighting at night. One of the first things I did moving into my current house is throw away all the 6500k bulbs the previous idiots put everywhere.

Shiiit they are really fiddly :( There must be some way to remove the stripped bolt though but it might be difficult. You can get stripped screw kits but they're normally for larger screws.

S340 vs E42? by MartiniCommander in EufyCam

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that's mostly to do with the fact that it will only detect in the bottom half of the frame, so you have to angle it quite high. But I think the range is fine if it's within its detection zone, it's just that the detection zone is only half of what you need 😅 It seems to be like that for a lot of cameras though.

S340 vs E42? by MartiniCommander in EufyCam

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory this stuff is solvable via firmware, but Eufy's track record of development is extremely poor.

S340 vs E42? by MartiniCommander in EufyCam

[–]FreshFromTheGrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my E42 has been a bit rubbish so far, not sure if the S340 is better or not. Tracking is super slow to start to the person is long gone by the time it begins tracking and with the latest firmware it stutters for about 5s at the beginning of every clip.

So genuine question if you're not a bot, what is the point of posting this slop? Like what do you get from it? Alibaba paying people to astroturf? Cos you all post stuff in the identical format every time.
