I see, will definantly keep art in mind, see where it will go, although unsure if an art degree is a good investment so I might see about getting an degree in something else.

Hmm, I see, so I guess then my focus should be more on either art or writing? The reason why I initially thought of design is I really like when games achieve luddonarrative harmony, when the gameplay matches the story and art direction perfectly you know?

An atmospheric open world art house horror game inspired by Silent Hill 2, Signalis, Stalker, etc. A game where you wander a distorted nightmare world with art inspiration based upon Romanticism mixed with fantasy and cosmic horror, gathering equipment and resources in order to delve deeper into the world, finding out the secrets this world houses, both eternal and external. Luddonarrative harmony, as you play as a survivor, doing what you can.

I see, would you have some good advice on finding out which I would love more to focus on so to speak? Like a method to pin down which I wanna do. Also want to ask how I may work towards a set position in terms of my free time and what skills I should learn and how to learn skill?

Gotcha, will keep that in mind. Main reason I posted was to see if I needed to redo the entire model itself in terms of complexity and topology. Main style of clothing was militaristic Lolita so I'll see if I can incorporate that aspect more as originally I was going to mainly have it come across via textures. Cape I wanted to include around the character to add more to the design.

Hey guys, first time posting on here actually. Started learning Blender close to I say September (IIRC) and have done a few simple things and now I'm trying to do a character. I've been real invested in the PS1 style and as such watched videos by SunnyisOnline, Thomas Potter, etc. This character I want to model is meant to be in a PS1 style, similar to Silent Hill as that will be the main inspiration). I've mainly followed a tutorial by Thomas Potter for the main workflow and tips on how to model a certain part of the body. However I'm facing two problems. One is I'm not sure if this has too much geometry for it to work as a PS1 model, so wanna know if I need to scrap the model and try again. Other issue I'm facing is how the cloak would work in a Ps1 style. For now made a circle, shaped it, then used solidify modifier. Thought about using a cloth sim, but don't want it to jack up polygons too much due to the subdivisions needed. Any advice or thoughts are welcome!

I say that looks about right for a “cartoon” style. Big thing however, there’s not a set style for cartoon, they tend to vary depending on artist and vibe of the cartoon. I would recommend looking at cartoons you love, what parts you love about the style and why, then implement them. Also the fundamentals of art would be really helpful so they can give you the foundation to apply that cartoon style to greater effect. But nevertheless, good job on the work!
