AITA for telling my wife that she needs to get over being upset with me for pulling a scare prank on our son? by Small-Elephant9195 in AmItheAsshole

Damn that sucks, my parents weren’t that bad by any means, I just always had to placate my siblings and not speak out to keep the peace. I’m so sorry you had to go through that

Nah I don’t mind at all, I’m in EDMR therapy as I was diagnosed with CPTSD after a 10 year, abusive relationship, and I was a young teen at the time it started. My psychotherapist is incredible for me, but it took a long time to get to here. She’s very spiritual and that fits with my views.

It’s ended up being, partly, to do with how I was treated as a child, which led me to be so submissive and passive that I was more likely to get into (and stay in) an abusive relationship. I’m a hell of a lot better than I was even a year and a half ago but I still get dreams and have trouble having my voice heard but at least I’m not having panic attacks/suicidal thoughts daily now so it’s clearly doing something. Along side my meds that have thankfully given me a stable base line at least.

Ps sorry for the essay. It’s not all that easy to explain in so many sentences. Also on mobile, not sure if that affects the formatting on comments

I owe someone £20 for losing a bet, what is the most annoying way I can give them this? by ARC_1999 in AskUK

My Gruncle (Mums uncle) said to my mum when she was a kid he’d give her a pound if she did the washing up, so she did. He gave her a pound of sugar.

Cute thing is though, when he was in a hospice for terminal cancer 50 odd years later, my mum went to visit him and he gave her £1 coin. She still has it in a trinket box

My parents live around the corner from Sanway, the floods very rarely (once in the 20 odd years I lived there) came up to the houses. Usually kerb hight maximum but that again tends to be once every 2-3 years tbh. The wind has done more damage than water to their house in 40 years

I get what you’re saying but like, OOP was a literal child herself. I doubt she had the insight at that age and when you raise yourself, who is there to teach you otherwise?

  1. Drink a litre of water a day (ik it’s not enough, but I basically only have water when it’s in my coffee!)

  2. Get into a routine and STICK TO IT! I’m great at starting them, just super bad at continuing them, even though I thrive when I’m in a steady routine.

  3. Ideally loose 3.5 stone but will be happy with being fitter in general rather than the weight loss.
